"Heyyy bitc-..... girl what's wrong" Veah asked
"my man ain't shit" I said with a straight face, as she made her way over to the table I was sitting at
I began to tell her about the conversation with Bryan and me.
"uh huh I know that nigga did not tell you to cut me off... is it crack that he's smoking" she asked rhetorically
"that's exactly what I said... but whatever i just wanna celebrate tonight" I said hyping up and tryna forget about what happened earlier
"Oh yea congrats on getting dad's practice" she said smiling
"girl how did you know, I didn't tell you what we was celebrating" I said confused
"Oh yea-... Daddy told me that he was giving you the practice 3 months ago" she said nonchalantly
"And you didn't tell me bitch" I said looking at her in disbelief that she knew.
"It wouldn't be much of a surprise if I told you, now would it" she said
"girl bye... but how's DK going" I asked
Our mom gave Veah her designing company when she retired early. DK stands for Diane King.
"It's going great actually. I have a whole new line coming out at the end fall and also I'm creating a magazine for the company. So everything is running smoothly" she said sounding proud of herself
"oh shit... look at us being big young bosses. But I still wonder why mom and dad went for early retirement. I mean mom is only 48 and dad is 53" I said
"that's still a mystery to me too-.." she was cut off by the waiter
"um excuse me ladies but those 2 gentlemen over there sent these drinks to you" he putting 2 lime margaritas on the table.
Veah and I look over to see who sent us the drinks. It was that guy Landon and his attractive friend. They both rise their glasses to us.
"girl they are fine as fuck" Veah said to me
"I know one of them.. the one on the left, his name is Landon... and the one on the right is his friend I'm assuming" I informed her
"look at his friend over there... looking all daddish" she said
I laughed because shawty was a freak but I'm a lowkey freak to, so I shouldn't be talking
Veah waved them to come over and I look at her like she grew 2 heads
"what the fuck are you doing" I whisper yelled
"what does it look like... his friend is fine as fuck" she said seriously
I laughed at her
"hello ladies" Landon's friend greeted
"heyy" Veah said
"Hey Nalani" Landon's said in a voice that made me wanna bust it open for him
'girl stop you got a fiancé' I thought to myself.
"Hey Landon" I said looking into his eyes
"why don't you guys keep us company for a bit" Veah said batting her lashes at his friend
they nodded. Landon sat next to me and his friend sat next to Veah.
"well let me introduce myself... my name is Calvin Bishop and this my homie Landon" he said
"Hi I'm Neveah King and this is my twin sister Nalani King" she said
"you guys are fraternal?" Landon asked and we nodded our heads
"so Neveah and Nalani what do you guys do for a living" Calvin asked
"I own a company called DK " Veah said
"wait you own DK... as in DK big design company" Landon asked in disbelief
"yea it was passed down to me by our mom" said gesturing between me and her
"oh thats wassup... but how bout you Nalani" Calvin asked facing me
"Well I'm a cardiologist and soon to be owner of King's Private Practice" I said
"oh shit.. Landon aren't you a cardiologist there" Calvin asked
"yea I do" he said sounding a bit upset but I shrugged it off.
"so what about you Calvin" Veah asked
"I'm play for the Los Angeles Chargers"
"no wonder you look familiar" Veah and me said at the same time
"bitch get out of my head" I said laughing with her
"girl bye... ain't nobody wanna be in ya stank ass brain" she said laughing
"ight.. I'll remember that" I said with all 4 of laughing
We were so caught up in each other's company, we didn't realize it was already 1:00am.
"Lani lemme ride with you... I took an uber uber" she asked me
"ight.. well It was nice hanging with you guys" I said as Veah and me started to get up.
"yea you too" Landon and Calvin said
"Hit us up anytime" Veah said winking at Calvin
"Yea I'll be sure to do that, now that I got ya number" Calvin said to Veah
I rolled my eyes playfully and made my way to the exit with Veah
We made it back to my penthouse and to no surprise bryan wasn't here.
Veah went to the guest room to shower while I went to my room. Once we were done we watch 'One on One' since it just came to Netflix. We Ordered takeout and just spent enjoyed each other's company. Once it was 4am we decided to turn in for the night
