I turn my head and see some kinda of skinny brown skinned guy.
"Nalani what are you doing here?" he asked in a possessive tone while eyeing me down
"I'm having lunch.... what are you doing here" she asked him
"I'm here for a.......meeting" he said
"but aren't you going to introduce me to your friend" he said eyeing me up and down
To be honest this guy had nothing on me and I'm not even trying to be cocky.
"ok yea sorry.... Bryan this is Landon and Landon this is Bryan my-" she said but was cut off by him
"her fiancé" he said cutting her off and picking up her hand to show the ring.
'like ok' I chuckled to myself
"the fuck is so funny" he asked looking at me
This nigga is sus. Like why the fuck he keep looking at me like that.
wait-......is he-..... is he trying intimidate me?
The thought made me chuckle even more
"oh nothing but um... congrats on the engagement and It's nice to meet you Brandon" I said sticking out my hand to shake his.
"It's Bryan ....you too" he said with an attitude and shaking my hand
He tried to squeeze my hand firm but I squeezed it back firmer. He released my hand once he saw I was stronger.
"yea so me and landon actually have to get back to work" she said looking at her apple watch
"ok by babe" he said kissing her deeply and looking at me
I don't know why seeing her kiss her fiancé felt like someone just smacked me.
"ok bye" she said blushing and looking away. While they were doing that I paid for lunch and Bryan walked away
"oh you didn't have to pay, I would've split it with you" she said
"nah it cool my mom always told me to pay for a woman" I said
"she raised you well" she said as we made our way to the car
I unlocked it and we got in
"can I play music" she asked
"yea but don't play no dumb shit" I said giving her my phone to play apple music
"I wasn't going to" she laughed as she played 'Big Poppa' by Biggie
"what you know bout this" I asked her laughing
"I know it all about it baby boy" she said with a little sass
"Ooo.. this is my favorite part of the song" she said as we were towards the end of the song
"Honey check it tell your friends, to get with my friends And we can be friends shit we can do this every weekend Aight? Is that aight with you? Yeah, keep bangin'" she said while looking at me.
As we entered the parking lot of the practice, I realized we had the same taste in music. She even put me on to an artist called A Boogie wit the Hoodie. She said when she went to New York a few years back she discovered his music.
"Well thank you for lunch Landon... I don't know if anyone has told you this but your fun to hang around" she said smiling as we made our way to the front of our offices
"Yea you are too... I would ask for ya number but I don't know how you fiancé would feel about that" I said
"If it's as friends, I think it should be fine" she said giving me her phone
We exchanged numbers and bid out goodbyes as we entered our offices.
As I was trying to get work done, I couldn't stop thinking about her

As I was walking into my apartment I got a text from Nalani.

We bid our goodnights and I went to shower
After I was done I knocked the fuck out. Good thing the practice is closed on the weekends cause my ass is not getting up until 12.
