Oceans and Shores

To what depth do you understand your own pain?

To what depth do you understand your beliefs?

Do you stand with your ankles in the water,

Or are you at the bottom of the sea?

Perhaps you are swimming above the deep.

Perhaps you're only in the rain.

Are you too scared of the reefs?

Don't you trust your Father?

Or do you have to see, before you take a leap?

If that's the case, why won't you open your eyes?

Do you know, when you're ankle deep, it's a lot easier to get knocked over by the wind, or burned by fire.

When you're even waist deep you still will sin and be burned by your desire.

But when you are at the bottom of the sea, you're nigh invincible. You're non-convincible.

You feel it so strong. You know you're not wrong.

In case my ideas aren't sinking through, let's add some weight so you'll sink too. The water? The water is your depth.

Not of who you are. Not of what you know.

It is the depth that shows what you know of who you are in Christ.

Who are you?

The water? It only protects.

It protects all that you are. It's a place to call home.

It's a place to feel safe and be comfortable because no matter what, you know, beyond any question, you are worth the ultimate price.

Who are you?

Maybe you're scared of drowning.

You're scared when the water starts surrounding.

Don't be. Dive deep.

You cannot die if you've already died and your life is in Christ.

That is eternal life.

It's a messy metaphor,

But once you hit the ocean floor,

Everything makes sense.

Don't even fear the waves.

You don't need a defense.

Everything is safe.

 Who are you?

To what depth do you know?

To what depth do you want to know?

How far will you go?

Are you content at the shore, or do you seek more?

Seek and you shall find. Re-define your mind.

I want to know.

Who are you?

Regardless, of who you are though, you are loved. You are seen. You are noticed. You are loved by God and that alone makes you worthy. I love each and every one of you.
