My Words

Words. I didn't choose my words.

They are reaching me, writing me,

Living inside of me.

All of them cry to me,

Why do you lie to me?

Words.

So many words.

They're inspiring, tiring,

Vital thing, always been,

True to me, clues for me,

Help me to see -Different words.

Words, what do you want?

Tell me up front!

Why do you joke?

Why do you tease?

Is there a hope?

What should I believe?

I can't see the point,

And I can't see the picture,

Girl, get to the point!

Don't give me a lecture!

The point has always been, will always be,

This part of me that only sees,

...words.

Trapped in words.

I try to escape with each sentence,

But I'm weighed down by each paragraph,

I'm serving my sentence,

So why don't you pour a glass,

Remove the mask,Refill the flask,

Admit that you're,

On the floor,

At the hands of words.

Powerful words.

They break me down and build me up.

Why can't I keep this dang mouth shut?

Words, what do you have to say?

Words, why won't you make a way?

Words, why do you steal the day?

Words, why won't you die, decay?

It's okay.

I see now, I see how,

It's okay. It's alright,

I still fight,

With words.

These dang words. Words.
