Chapter 4

Nakatingin lang ako sa Groto ni Mama Mary malapit lang sa Circular Lawn ng may marinig akong mahinang pagclick ng isang bagay malapit lang sa akin. Paglingon ko, nahuli ko si Krystal na kinukunan ako ng litrato.

She just smile at me when she saw me frowning. I hated her guts but there is no denying that there's something in her I couldn't resist. I want to punish her for stealing another photo of me but I just can't.

"Kanina ka pa?" Tanong nya.

"Not really. Just a couple of minutes." Naglakad na ako papuntang Circular Lawn. Sumunod naman sya. Being with her now makes me losen up with my range at home and it completely freaks me out how could her bare presence makes me calm in an instant. 

"Talaga lang ha. Excited ka sigurong makita ako no? Hahaha." Ngiti nya sa'kin. I know she's just teasing me.

"Asa ka naman. Wala lang akong magawa sa bahay kaya napaaga punta ko dito no. Wag kang assumera." Depensa ko naman.

Pero tama naman sya eh. Excited talaga ako kanina na makita sya. I just don't know why. Pagkatapos ng encounter ko kay Leon at Mommy, nawalan na ako ng ganang tumambay sa bahay at pumunta na lang ako dito sa Univ earlier than the time we agreed yesterday. At the thought that I'll meet her again this afternoon gives me a little bit excitement. But of course there's no way I'm gonna tell it to her.

"Ahh okay sabi mo eh." Ngiti nya sakin. I just can't believe that this girl intrigues me lot. She's not my type, that's for sure. Masyado maingay eh. I like my girls to be soft spoken and with finess.

Sabagay, what would I expect sa isang tipikal na probinsyana di ba? So what I'm feeling right now is kinda weird kasi first time ko nagkainteres sa isang probinsyana. And I figure out, it's not really that bad at all.

"Krystal, pwede magtanong?" I asked conversationally.

"Nagtatanong ka na."

"Grrr seryoso ako. Kainis ka."

"Danielle, hindi rin ako nagbibiro." Sabi nya pero alam ko namang pinagtitripan na naman ako neto. Nakakainis talaga 'tong babaeng 'to pero di ko naman magawang magalit sa kanya. Ewan ko ba.

Tumahimik na lang ako at naupo sa isang bench doon. Pinanood ko lang sya habang kinukunan nya ng litrato yung isang butterfly sa may bulaklak. Napansin ata nya pananahimik ko kaya tinabihan nya ko.

Shit! Ano yun? Pakiramdam ko may ilang boltahe ng kuryente ang dumapo sa balat ko nang magdikit ang mga braso namin. 'Relax Danielle. Wala lang yun.'

We just stayed there for awhile in silence, both out of nothing to say but it didn't bores me a little. Sitting besides with her somehow gives me comfort that I cannot explain how and why. I just can feel it. She's somehow my little escape gateaway from my family and the chaos I've been through.

I just watched her playing with the santan flower that she picked up from the C Lawn. I just noticed since I meet her yesterday, Krystal is somehow a very unpridictable girl. Sometimes she's annoying, sometimes she's so mature most especially when the topic got serious. Sometimes she could be cool and just a happy kid pero minsan nakikita ko sa mga mata nya na meron din syang itinatagong lungkot.

I can't help myself but smile at the thought. In a short period of time, I can't believe that this girl has already got into me. She completely intrigues me that I really want to spend more time with her and know her better.

"Uy, galit ka?" Sabi nya sabay siko sakin.

"Nope!" I smiled at her. Gusto ko mang magalit sa kanya kasi sya lang ang ka-isa isang babaeng sumasagot-sagot sa'kin at nangbabara, pero hindi ko magawa. I just simply can't.
