The doorbell rings and Hongjoong flinches at the sound. He releases a nervous sigh rubbed his sweaty palms up and down his thigh then made his way down the stairs to get the door.
"Dad! I'm going, probably won't be back till really late" He calls out to his dad wherever he was at in the house.
"Yeah ok. Don't do anything irresponsible" His dad's gruff voice echoes from the basement.
Hongjoong rolls his eyes. "Yeah yeah"
He goes and opens the front door and was greeted with Seonghwa who had been looking out in the distance. Upon the door opening Seonghwa looks back at him, a sweet smile of his lips. Hongjoong returns the smile.
"Hi" Seonghwa starts first.
"Hi" Hongjoong replies.
"You ready to go?"
Hongjoong then began wearing his shoes. "Y-yeah I'm ready" He says once he was done.
They both make their way towards Seonghwa's black BMW. Hongjoong hops into the passenger's seat and used those few seconds that he was alone in the car to take in the fancy looking interior. Seonghwa walks around the car and gets in the drivers and soon they were off.
"So what exactly is a block party anyway?" Hongjoong says in attempt to start a conversation. The intense quiet in the car almost suffocating.
Seonghwa glances at him but not with a judgmental look but with a small smile. "It's basically as the name says. Every house on the block is hosting a party and it's really fun. There's music and alcohol.. lots of it"
Hongjoong chuckles under his breath then he looks out the window of the moving car. "I don't like drinking. I always feel like crap the next day"
"That's fine. You don't have to drink. I won't drink either since I have to drive us home. We'll have our own little sober party" Seonghwa says playfully.
Hongjoong glances at him, something sparkling in his eyes at he stared at the model like visuals of the older male. Seonghwa, whose eyes were on the road, turns and glares at Hongjoong when he feels a pair of eyes on him.
"What?" He wonders out loud.
"Nothing. Just.. excited. Thanks for inviting me" Hongjoong smiles sofly.
"Of course.. thanks for coming"
"Yeah"
