There we were, me and Erica, stuck in a tiny, dimly lit closet. Per Jayden's request, her face was centimeters away from mine.

Now- if you haven't been this close to a person that you have a crush on, then you wouldn't understand, but her face was basically the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Especially considering the fact that she had done herself up for the ball.

Her eyes were even more clear now that we were so close to each other. Her perfectly chiseled face stood out amongst everything in the background, and I couldn't focus on anything except for her.

Now, my mind had been on something else during this. I had grown to Erica's height within the past few months. When I first met her, she had towered over me like a lioness to a cub. But now that I was exactly her height, she didn't have to bend down to face me.

The tips of her eyelashes brushed my forehead, and I winced. Her neatly applied mascara gleamed in front of my eyes as I moved in a millimeter closer.

"Don't try anything funny," Erica suddenly said, making me retract a few inches.

"God!" I complained. "At least warn me when you're going to suddenly talk like that again."

"As I said, don't try anything funny. They have cameras and microphones rigged in here. You really think they would just let us do whatever we want without them knowing?"

I nodded. Her logic was right, though it kind of seemed suspicious. "How did they put the cameras and microphones in so fast? It's impossible that they could predict this beforehand- the odds are too slim for everything to go their way."

"There were security cameras already attached in this room," Erica said. "They simply just abducted them. And I know they're watching us right now, directly from that cam right there."

She pointed over to the top right of the tiny closet, where, if you looked close, a hidden cam and mic were lodged into the wall at a hard-to-see angle.

I looked up to the camera, temporarily breaking our face contact. "Guys, if you're watching like Erica said you are, then you're all-out perverts." With this, I broke the camera lens and punched the mic senseless.

"There," I said with a flourish. "We're alone now."

"Yes, and we have a minute and thirty seconds left on my mental clock," Erica said. "Do you have anything you want to talk about?"

"How about a touchy subject?" I suggested. "Since it's just... y'know, me and you."

Erica looked reluctant, but eventually nodded. "How about what happened before?"

"By 'before', you mean..." I said, rolling my wrist.

"When I gave you the present. Speaking of that, do you still have it within hand's reach?"

I nodded, then grabbed the tiny metal piece out of my pocket. "What about the time when you gave me a present?" I continued.

"Well, it's pretty rare that you actually save my life. And I didn't get to thank you fully yet- the present was only part one."

"Part one? And what's part two?" I pondered.

"Well, it's something we'll get onto if I'm comfortable enough. And by the way, the timer just went off in my mind. We're due to come out of the closet by now."

"Already?" I said, failing to hide the disappointment hidden in my voice.

"Yep, but I'll extend the time as much as I possibly can," Erica said, heading over to the door and lodging a piece of wood in the handle, virtually preventing anyone from entering. "We have things to discuss."
