January 4
"Hello Calum." Ella said shyly to Calum the following day.
They were the only ones at Chipotle already, as they were waiting for the others.
"Hey Ella." Calum mumbled.
"I'm sorry for getting up so abruptly like that the other day." Ella apologized.
"Oh, that's fine." Calum dismissed her. "I didn't know you went to our school."
"Well, I do." Ella chuckled lowly.
"I just haven't seen you before."
"Well, you guys are all sophomores, and I'm a freshman, so that might be it?"
Calum was surprised as he turned to look at her eyes. It was hard not to stare into her eyes.
They were so blue. But not a bright shade of blue. They were a pale shade of blue, but they were sharp. Like icicles.
Her eyes made you tempted to unlock their secret.
He pryed his eyes away from Ella's, shrugging. "That might be."
Without another word, Calum started walking towards the main doors, and Ella quickly followed behind him.
"Was it too cold out for you?" Ella teased nervously.
Calum shrugged again. "I don't like the cold."
Ella nodded understandingly. "I don't mind it, but it does get too much for an entire season."
They sat down in a table, and Calum saw Luke's car pull up into the parking lot. He knew Michael was in it.
Ashton got out of the car first, and Calum felt excluded again, that he drove his own car, and they all carpooled.
They walk in and immediately spot Calum and Ella, and sit down.

"So, Ella, how's college going for you?" Michael asks.
She shrugged. "It's pretty fun, I guess. It's actually about the same workload as high school, so that's a relief."
Ashton smiles at her. "That's good to hear. And Calum, mate, how are you doing?"
Calum grimaced at the nonchalant use of "mate" from Ashton. "I'm good, thanks." He said quietly, cautiously eating his food.
"This is delicious. Thanks for inviting me." Ashton says.
Luke nods. "It's not a problem at all."
"Yeah, we're glad to have you with us. I heard you play the drums?"
Ashton's eyes brighten, nodding. "I do!"
"That's cool, I sing, and play the guitar, and so does Michael." Luke says.
Calum felt a sharp pain in his chest, as he cleared his throat. "I sing, too. And play the bass."
Ashton smiles, not noticing anything wrong with Calum. "That's fantastic!"
Luke and Michael nod in agreement, not a trace of looking sorry that they forgot Calum.
Calum suddenly got up, almost knocking his water off the table.
"I'm going to go. I have a class soon, and I haven't quite studied for the test today."
"Okay. Bye Calum!" All four of them chirped, and went back to eating their food and talking.
Calum sighed, and pushed open the door.
He wish he would stop being forgotten.
It was always him and Luke and Michael. And now it was all Ashton and Luke and Michael. He just wanted to be remembered.
Because being lonely is scary.
