"Did you hear?" Asked a girl with a very high-pitched voice

"Hear what?" Asked a boy who sounded confused

"There's five new students coming to the school tomorrow all the way from New York" she answered excitedly

"Why would they come to this crap town?" Asked another girl in a smaller voice

"Who knows" the pitchy girl shrugged her shoulders. More students then entered the room along with the teacher

"Alright class will be reading the rest of 'How to Kill a Mockingbird'"

I pulled out the book and read through the rest of the book as the class read it out loud as a group. The teacher never once called on me or even looked my way, but that was normal. I'm real confused though as to why a bunch of students would move here out of all places from New York when we just started the second semester of the year. Not to mention there are five new students, are they related?

'They must be'

I guess I will find out tomorrow when they arrive. Who am I kidding, they are probably a bunch of rich stuck-up snobs. But who am I to judge? They could be nice, let us hope when they do get here. If they do get here, they leave me alone like everyone else. I just have four months left of school before I can stop worrying about if people see behind the hoodie and see what is happening behind closed doors

Eventually it was time to go to hell, sorry I mean home. I made the long walk towards the hell hole I live in. I walked up and see none of their cars in the drive and sigh with relief, they are out gambling and having fun. I have the house to myself tonight. I walk up to my room and start my schoolwork on my bed. About two hours later I am done.

'Thank the lord'

I creep downstairs out of habit and look through the fridge and cabinets, I pick up the peanut butter and bread for a plain peanut butter sandwich. I quickly make it and then turn to go back to my room. I munch on it slowly as to not upset my stomach and sit next to the window seal. I stare down at the knife as I finish my food. Not tonight, I just need sleep. Hopping the nightmares will let me

The next morning, I wake up and get ready, I walk out the front door ready for my walk when I still see no cars up front. They must have gone on a road trip; they do that from time to time, which is nice, I guess. I don't have to deal with them, the downside though is I do not know when they will return. It could be tomorrow or a month from now, only depends on how far they go to gamble

I make it to the school grounds and see three cars in the parking lot that do not look familiar to me. I have never seen them, and I know everyone's cars. I pull my hood down over my nose heading into the school, for the warmth of the building. I keep an eye out just in case I have a run in with the so-called new students, I look around holding my hood quite far down my face. I make it to my locker and switch my books

I make a beeline for my first period and straight into the back, no one had arrived yet. I stare at my history book and read a little bit of the lessons we have not read yet. I have nothing better to do. I look up and see some students enter, I knew all of them. No new kids yet, maybe some of the regulars got new cars? Yeah, that must be it. I listen to the group in front of me. The same ones from yesterday

"God, have you seen the boys? They are so hot" the pitchy girl says fanning herself. I guess there are new kids

'Great'

"I know right! The one with the glasses is so cute" the soft-spoken girl adds "I wonder if the girls they hand out with are dating any of them"

"I don't know, but I would like a piece of the guy with green eyes. Holy hot damn" she gushed

"This is weird" I heard the guy chime in "But the girls are pretty smoking hot"

"Gross" pitchy girl said, I watched her make a face before turning away from the group

So, there are new students, interesting. Soon I was entering sixth period and I have yet to see these new kids. That is all the school has been talking about, these newcomers. This town hardly got any new people, so everyone is intrigued by them. It's crazy; I still have not found out any of their names.

'Why would I care what their names are?'

It is not like I'm going to talk to them, It's not like I can talk anyway. They hopefully will not know I exist, and I can go the next four months without being spotted by anyone, I mean I have gone this long. I sit in my seat in the back and pull my hoodie down as I lean back in my chair. All my stuff is piled neatly on my desk and I wait for the teacher to start class. Like come on, start already. I do not want to go home yet, but I hate just sitting in class

I hear footsteps, and everyone go quiet. I slightly look up and see five kids I have never seen before in my life standing at the front of the class. I watch them intently as they stand there like they are not being stared down by twenty curious students. I hate being at the center of attention, but these kids seem to be loving it.

My eyes fall on a guy leaning on the boards with amazing light green eyes with a bored look on his face, he let his eyes roam around the room not staying on anyone long. He stopped when one of his friends nudged him, he shook his head making his slightly curly hair move
