"Guys, this is Sophia," Charlie said pulling out a chair for her to sit down. "Sophia, this is Jer, and his wife Carolynn, Owen, Ava, Sawyer and uh...Lake?" He said scratching his head like he was thinking about it. "Where's Mads? I want her to meet Sophia," he said shoving a piece of bread in his mouth, raising his eyebrows and grinning at Owen.

My eyes were glued to his face, completely shocked by what was happening. For a split second my eyes went to Ava, and her mouth was literally hanging open.

Before I knew what I was doing I got up and made my way towards the bathroom.

No, I heard the voice in my head saying. For once, my body actually listened to her. I found my feet stopping suddenly and turning around, going back to the table.

There was not way in hell that I was going to storm off the the bathroom and admit defeat. If Charlie wants to be an asshole, let him be. I was here to have a good time with my friends.

"I'm sorry, that was so rude of me!" I said as I reached the table again

"I'm sorry, that was so rude of me!" I said as I reached the table again. Both Ava and Sawyer sent me weary looks but I just shook my head and smiled. My parents always taught me to be polite no matter what. "I forgot to say hi before running off to the bathroom. I'm Lake. It's nice to meet you Sophia," I said holding out my hand for her. She smiled wide and took my hand. I allowed myself one split second for my eyes to look over at Charlie. I saw his grin falter for just a second. It was quick, but I saw it.

"You too," she said quietly. I nodded and grabbed my napkin and starting unfolding it, placing it on my lap.

I took this minute to analyze Sophia

I took this minute to analyze Sophia. She was gorgeous. Pale skin with a natural blush to her skin. She had light brown hair with bright green eyes. Wow, i thought to myself. Gorgeous was an understatement. And she seemed really nice which made this hurt even more.

"Aren't you going to the bathroom?" Owen asked. I completely ignored the baffled looks on my friends faces. Even if it was killing me, I couldn't let it show.

"And miss all the fun?" I said sarcastically. Charlie's grin was faltering with each second I was at the table acting like everything was normal.

"Well, Mads was really looking forward to seeing you today, but she couldn't making it out tonight," Jeremy said awkwardly trying to lighten up the mood. I glanced over at him and Carolynn leaned over and gave me an encouraging smile. They were so sweet. My hands started to shake, my nerves getting the better of me. Luckily Owen scooted closer to me and held my hands. I could see Charlie in front of me furrow his eyebrows and concentrate, but right now I didn't even care. I was too focused on not letting any of my emotions show.
