A/N: This is home by Cavetown is included, and I suggest listening to it. I don't think it's on time with the way it's laid out in the story but yeah. When it begins talking of the ooh's, imagine them between the lines of words. Thank you! ALSO: Italic is the singing.

Zak's POV

I wasn't mad at him, but I lost all words after the man left. I wish I could've helped better, but I didn't even stop Darryl from going to sleep sad. Moving off my chair, I lean onto the couch he's on. I slow down my breathing, listening to his soft snores and light mumbles. Tears come down my face but I don't wipe them away. He's a truly important person.

"I really like you, Darryl. You're my absolute best friend." I whisper, turning to let my back lean against the couch. I hear him mumble something back, and then keep snoring. I giggle, closing my eyes lightly for a while. Thinking in the dark, feeling Darryl wiggle in his sleep on the couch. An arm wraps around me and I open my eyes. Darryl seems to be half-asleep but trying to hug or cuddle me. I get closer to him, taking deep breaths, finally comfortable. I feel his forehead lean against the back of my head, him slowly humming a song. He begins humming along to the song "This is Home" by Cavetown. It's old, but still a good song. I started tapping my fingertips to his hums, beginning to join him as best as I could. The hums begin turning into words,

"Are you tired of me yet? I'm a little sick right now but I swear,"

We sway along to the song, as if our minds become one. It's like we're both at the same tempo, heading through a hill at the same speed; immeasurably. We start the ooh's in the song, not hitting any of the notes.

"To make you stare"

"I'll hide my chest, and I'll figure out a way to get us out of here." As we wrap up that verse, we continue the ooh's, missing more notes. We start laughing at each other's horrid cover, reopening the gap between us.

"That was fun, but we need to start actually learning the songs!" I exclaim, poking at his shoulder.

"Hey, you missed more notes than me, you muffinhead." He replied, making me chuckle and mess his hair up.

"Sure, we'll go with that."
