No one voted on my last story which is lowkey embarrassing because I really worked hard on it but it's whatever🤧😪
Ok so I've never written a story with kids before so don't judge me😅
The names are probably going to be weird but I got them off a list, I didn't just make them up.
ANYWAYSSS, onto the story \^o^/
Y/N'S PoV:
"Alright, kids! Let's go!", I called out to them. They were currently upstairs getting ready while Levi and I sat on the couch and waited for them. "We're coming!" I heard them run down the hall and come downstairs.
The first to come down was London, our 5 year old daughter. She came down with her usual sassy strut and walked up to me. "Mommy, I can't find my perfume.", she pouted. "You don't need any perfume, honey. We aren't going out in public.", I told her. She groaned and plopped down on the couch next to me.
A few moments later, our second child came down, Jullian, our 8 year old son. He came down very quietly and sat next to Levi. "Hey, dad.", Jullian said. "Hey. Are you okay?" Levi was always worried about him, for whatever reason. "I'm fine, thanks for asking." He was really polite.
Finally, our third child came down, our 11 year old daughter, Hazel. She came down happily. "Hey, mom! Hey dad!", she waved. We waved back.
"Um, we're here too you know.", London snapped. "Hey, London and Jullian.", Hazel sighed.
"Are ya'll ready to go?", Levi said while going to get the keys. "Yes.", Hazel and Jullian said at the same time. "No daddy!" Of course, London wasn't ready to go. "What do you need, London." "I can't find my princess lip gloss!"
"Alright, let's go look for it.", he went upstairs with London to go find it. I turned back to where I thought Hazel would be sitting. "Hazel? Where did you go?", I asked. "She went to go clean the bathroom. And because it is 'sooo dirty' even though there is only like, one speck of dirt, she has to do it right now.", Jullian said. I shook my head. "Just like her father.", I whispered to myself.
"Well, what are you up to?", I ask my son. "Nothing, just reading this manga my friend recommended to me." "Oh ok."
~ Time Skip to the car ~
Now we are all in the car and Levi is driving. London was doing her "makeup", Jullian was reading his manga, and Hazel was listening to music. Since they were either tuned out or focused on something else, I decided to talk to Levi.
"Are you sure you want to do this? You don't have to if you don't want to.", I said. "I mean, the kids are going to ask at some point. So I might as well show them now." I agreed with him.
"Dad, where are we going?", Jullian asked. He sighed. "To visit your grandmother." I looked back to see his reaction. "Cool! I can't wait to meet her! Hey, London, what should we call our grandmother?" I chuckled and turned back around. "We should call her Granny! Or Grandma! Or Nana!", London came up with so many ideas so quickly.
I looked at Levi and he seemed really sad. I took his hand, the one that wasn't on the wheel of course. "It's okay.", I whispered.
"Hazel! Hazel! Hazel! We are going to visit... GRANNY!!!", London exclaimed. "Wait, mom's mom or dad's mom?", Hazel asked. "Oh, I don't know.", London said. "Hey, who's mom are we seeing?", Jullian asked. "We are going to see your dad's mom.", I told them.
"Yay! Does she have cookies? Or a pie? Maybe she will tell us funny stories about dad's childhood!" Levi sighed deeply. The kids don't realize that they are triggering him. They weren't trying to, they just don't know yet.
Now we have arrived at our destination. We found a place to park the car. "Daddy, what is this place? What are all those rock signs?", London asked. Jullian looked up, "London what are talking abou-... oh"
"Why are we at a cemetery?", Hazel asked. "What is a cemetery?", London asked Hazel. "A cemetery is where dead people get buried.", Hazel responded. Jullian and London gasped. "Um, why does granny live near a cemetery?! Why live near a cemetery when you could live near a beach? Or a mall? I really need to teach granny some style sense."
I got out of the car and opened the door for the kids. Still really confused, they stepped out of the car and looked around. "Mommy, where is her house? Where is daddy going?", London pointed in his direction. Looks like he already went to go find her. "Come on let's go but, stay next to me. Don't get too close to daddy ok?" All three nodded and we stayed behind Levi but not too close.
We were walking for a few minutes, and then Levi stopped. 'This must be it.' The kids stopped and looked at their father. He bent down and touched the grave. "What is he doing? Why is he crying?", London whispered. I looked up and noticed that he was crying. "Hold on, you three wait right here." The kids looked like they wanted to help.
I walked up to where he was and bent down next to him. I didn't say anything. I couldn't say "It's okay" or "I'm so sorry" or "Stop crying". I just rubbed his back as he mourned for his dead mother. At this point, he is now sobbing. He said that he never wanted to seem weak but I guess he couldn't hold it back anymore.
Right then, I felt a little tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see London with a tissue in her hand. I saw that her mini purse was open so I assumed she got it out of there. "Thank you.", I mouthed. I took the tissue and she nodded. Then she ran back to her two siblings.
I turned back to Levi and he was still crying. I held the tissue in front of him. He put his hands out to show that they were dirty and he couldn't wipe the tears.
I sighed and then began wiping his face. After I finished, I balled it up and put it in my pocket. I looked back at the kids and signaled them to come over. They started walking towards the grave.
As they got closer, I saw that Jullian had started crying too. He immediately got down next to Levi and hugged him.
"Is your mommy in there?", London asked softly. Levi nodded and started crying again. London gasped. "Mommy, did I make him cry again?", she asked started to tear up. "No, of course not. He just...misses his mom that's all.", I told her.
Hazel walked up to Jullian and comforted him. London fell into my arms and sobbed, still thinking that she hurt her dad's feelings. "It's ok sweetie. You didn't hurt his feelings I promise." I gave her a quick kiss on her cheek. "Are you sure?", she choked out. "Mhm."
I started to get up and the kids did too. "Let's get in the car and give your dad some alone time okay?" They nodded and we started walking to the car. As walked back, London stopped and ran back. It looked like she took something out of her bag. Some kind of bottle. She put the liquid from the bottle on his hand and Levi rubbed it in. Then she gave him something else that was white. She closed up her bag and ran back. "I was just giving him some tissues and hand sanitizer."
I smiled at her act of kindness and continued walking. When we got to the car I opened the door for the kids and they got in. Hazel listened to her music, London continued her "makeup", and Jullian started reading his manga again.
I was going to scroll through my phone but I decided to keep an eye on Levi instead. We were in the car for about ten minutes before he came back. When he started walking back, I got out of the car and went up to him. "Are you okay? Do you need anything?", I asked before he got in the car. "I'm fine, let's just go home now.", he said quietly.
"I'll drive.", I offered. He nodded and got into the passenger seat and looked out the window. I started up the car and drove home.
Okie I'm done bc I really don't know what else to put in this -_- and I'm just really tired rn so I will post later ok baiii
