I nervously straighten my jumper as I climb up the stairs, one step at a time.
Come on Seokjin, you can do this.
It's been about six months since my breakup with Lia and my apartment has become unbearable, stripped clean of any happiness or light. The first month or two was alright as the boys would check up on me regularly and keep me preoccupied. However, when everyone returned to work, I couldn't ignore the dreary, lonely depressed aching in my heart. I longed for company.
Taehyung had recommended in getting a companion like his little dog, Yeontan. At first I was reluctant as I live on one of the top floors of the apartment complex but Jimin suggested (persuaded) in getting a kitten.
"Hyung, imagine a tiny ball of floofy happiness bounding around your apartment!", Jimin says gleefully, "Kittens require less work then puppies. You won't have to worry about walking them or anything like that"
"Having an animal is a lot of responsibility", Hoseok points out in an unusual serious tone, "This isn't some piece of furniture we're talking about. You're looking after a living thing"
"We know", Yoongi rolls his eyes, "We're adults not some twelve year old kids"
"I'm pretty sure Jimin wants one more then Jin-hyung", Taehyung chuckles in amusement at his friend's eagerness.
"I would love one", Jimin pouts cutely, "I don't have enough time to take care of one though. I travel too much"
"You have to be positive you want one", Hoseok says, "It's going to be quite a lot of responsibility"
"Hyung is really responsible", Jungkook smiles, "He has three cacti, all healthy and happy"
"Yeah that... that is not the same thing"
"My friend's roommate's cat has just given birth to kittens", Namjoon speaks out, "You could just drop by and maybe just have a look?"
Apartment 28. This must be it.
I ring the doorbell and patiently wait for an answer. I do love the idea of having a cute kitten to keep me company. I feel guilty in relying on the boys as they have their own lives too.
