Hey Everyone! Sorry for another short chapter, but when I was writing this I wanted to stretch it out into as many chapters as possible, so this is what I got left with.
I really like this chapter! I think it is super sweet and there are even a few funny moments as well!
I hope you didn't forget about a few characters, because we may or may not be seeing their return... enjoy!
Eve's POV:
Before I know it Mitch, Sarah, and Clare show up at my door. They get right to work, packing boxes, playing back the memories that we shared. It's sad. So incredibly sad. I'm going to miss them more than words can describe.
About an hour into packing, around 5pm, I hear another knock at my door. Sam perks up and heads straight to the door, looking through the peephole, making sure it is who she thinks it is.
She turns to me, a big smile on her face. "Do you remember how I told you to trust me when I said I would find someone to run the store?" she asks, and I nod, remembering what she said in the store.
"Well I found someone." she says as she opens the door, revealing Alice with a bunch of suitcases, and Justin, the one who is carrying them. She looks at Justin and doesn't say a word, just passive aggressively points to the floor just inside the door, signaling where to put her bags.
I grimace at the sight of Justin, but I guess I should feel thankful that he brought my sister here.
"So I guess I'm a California girl now." she says as I run to hug her. She looks over my shoulder at Harry and squints her eyes. "I should be so mad at you right now." she says, making his cheeks red.
"Watch out Harold, this girl seems dangerous." Mitch jokes. Harry rolls his eyes at Mitch.
I let out a laugh. Leaving is really going to hurt. "We don't hate him. I promise." I tell her, and her eyes go wide. I immediately shut that down, making sure she doesn't give away my secret. I should've known she would know. Sisters always do.
I look over to Justin, who is standing in the hallway awkwardly. "Well? Are you going to come in and help, or are you just gonna stand there?" I ask, letting my mouth form into a small smile. He walks inside and immediately gets to packing, helping out Clare who is having trouble with the tape.
And with that we all continue working. We play music, we sing, we share memories. It's the perfect last night. By 7pm we've only made a dent. I can feel Harry's eyes on me as I pack, them burning in my skin. I sneak a pen and paper in my pocket when I walk into the kitchen, before sneaking into the bathroom.
I stand at the counter and pull out the paper and pen. I look at myself in the mirror and think about how much I've changed. How much confidence I've gained. How much one person has changed me. My perception of what it's like to love and be loved.
I start writing. It's a letter. A thank you, a goodbye, and see you soon, all of the above. I know if I say these things to his face, I won't make it through without crying. I might not even leave at all. So I write. My hands start to shake as I get closer to the part that's been weighing on my chest. He's going to read this. He is going to know.
I finish writing, putting the cap back on the pen. I stuff the piece of paper in my pocket, and head back into the room, stopping to look at the people in my apartment, each meaning something different to me. I am so thankful for them. I wouldn't be here without them
"Hey." I hear a familiar voice behind me as he places his hand on my back. "Let's take a walk." I nod, following him outside. It's cold, but I don't mind. It feels nice. We walk in silence, and before we know it we're at Lake Summers.
We sit on the rock, waiting for the other person to speak. Eventually, he does.
"I don't really know how to say goodbye." he says, his voice in a whisper. "Then don't. Consider it a 'see ya later'. I tell him, another smile crosses his face.
"I'm going to miss that." I tell him. "Miss what?" he asks, confused. He gazes up at me, his green eyes catching the moonlight.
"Your smile." I respond, making him blush. "I'm going to miss you, Evangeline Williams." he says back, not taking the complement.
"I'm going to miss you too, Harry Styles." I respond, lightly pushing his shoulder. Do it now, Eve.
I clear my throat. "I um- I wrote you a letter." I say, pulling the piece of paper out of my pocket.
"Really, can I read it?" he asks, fully interested in what I'm saying. "Not yet. You can when I leave." I tell him, handing him the letter.
"Deal." he says, looking back out at the water. Deal.
We sit there in silence, something that I have grown quite fond of.
You keep me up with your silence.

I hope you liked this chapter! I also left a little teaser at the end of the chapter, so if you feel like it, try to find out which song that last line belongs to and you might get a feeling of how the next (and last) chapter is going to go :)
The next chapter will be the last, but I am releasing two "chapters", chapter 14 and the epilogue! The epilogue isn't anything special, but it does give you some clarity!
Follow me for more!!
See you on Saturday for the last chapter!
