"Teka lang po!" sigaw ni Avani na inaayusan ang sarili at ako din ay pinagsisikapang maging presentableng tignan. "Do I look fine now?" she whispered at me at tumango ako. She heaved a deep breath and gulped while turning the door knob and we saw his father trying to knock again sakto din ang pagbukas ni Vani ng pinto.
"Hi mom and dad!" she asked and opened the door widely. "Hi sir, ma'am. Good morning," I shook their hands one by one and I was relieved that they smiled at me. I hope those smiles will be permanent.
"Pasok po kayo," I uttered and they nodded. Huli kaming sumunod sa kanila at nagbulungan, "You entertain them while I make something to eat, okay?" I whispered to her and she nodded at me.
"Why are you here po?" she asked them at ako naman ay nakikinig lang sa kanilang pina-uusapan habang nagluluto. "We have a gift for you sweetie," her mom replied sweetly. "Talaga po? Only for me or for both Zach and I?" tanong niyang muli and I felt important for a second that my wife considered my existence there.
"Ahm, ofcourse sweetie." When I finished cooking something to fill their stomach, we talked for a bit and they said that we'll be going somewhere to get our gift. His father looked at me and looked at the terrace and I knew what he meant so I went there and he followed me.
"So, how are things going so far?" he asked. "It's fine sir, she's recovering and it's a relief that she got pregnant after the recovery," I replied frankly. "Did you plan having her pregnant?" he asked out firmly while looking at the fine city scenery.
"No sir," I answered politely like I was interviewed by some sort of a terror professor at my school back then. "You might wanna close your zipper, it's been open since we entered here," his dead serious voice was heard by my ears at dali dali kong sinara ang nakabukas kong zipper na hindi ko namalayang bukas pala saka napasapo ng noo.
"Siguraduhin mo ang sinasabi ko sa'yo palagi. Do not let her remember or else, ikaw ang sisisihin ko pag may mangyaring masama sa kaniya," he whispered and I nodded. "You have my word sir, I promise," but promises are meant to be broken sir, she'll find out things soon dahil walang sikretong hindi nabubunyag.
"Anong ginagawa niyong dalawa dito?" biglang pumasok si Avani sa balkonahe na ikinabigla naming dalawa ng ama niya.
"Nothing," Parehas naming sambit at nagtinginan. Binigyan kami ni Avani ng makahulugang tingin at lumapit sa akin. "Mag-aayos po muna kami dad," she excused us to her father and went inside our room. "Anong pinagusapan niyo?" tanong niya nang makapasok kami at namewang, "Ahm, tungkol sa gift daw nila Lauv, he shared it with me," pinagpapawisang sagot ko.
"Are you sure that's the only thing you two talked about?" paninigurado niya ang her eyes squinted. "Oo, remember when he called last time? That was the same thing we were talking about, I swear!" I crossed fingers to make her believe me and I guess it worked. "Fine, go take a shower first and I'll pick something to wear."

"Where exactly are we going?" my wife who has no idea where we are asked inside the car. "Just wait sweetie," his father replied and she just nodded.
"Nandito na tayo Lauv," bulong ko sa kaniya at nagtaka siya nang huminto kami sa isang malaking bahay dito sa isang subdivision na malapit lang din sa mansion nila. "Tara, pasok tayo," pag-aaya ng ina niya nang makababa kami sa kotse at pumasok sa hindi gaanong mataas na gate.
"Wow," sambit ng katabi ko nang makapasok kami sa loob ng malaking pintuan at bumungad ang napakagandang arrangement ng dining area.
"This house have 4 bedrooms, one master bedroom and three for your kids in the future," ani ng kaniyang ina na nagsilbing tour guide namin. "The kitchen, it's big because I know both of you loves cooking and baking and future activities might be held here-- if you know what I mean," binigyan niya kami ng makahulugang ngiti at pati si Avani at natawa din ng mahina excluding his father na may kausap sa telepono.
"Why is the exterior design so familiar?" tanong ni Vani at tumawa ang ina niya. "Remember when I let you design a house on my iPad? This is it," she chuckled softly. "Really? Kaya pala, this is so cool!" she exclaimed. "This is yours now," his father butted in the conversation and that made Avani halt. "For real? Hindi naman kayo nagbibiro diba po?" tanong niya at napatawa ako sa kadaldalan niya.
"Silly, bakit naman sila magbibiro ng ganito. We'll be living here," sambit ko and I can feel his father's eyes staring at me. "But this is too much," malungkot niyang saad at yumuko. Nilapitan siya ng ina at niyakap, "It's fine sweetie, it's a gift from mom and dad kaya you don't have to worry about finding where to settle," she explained to her daughter at wala na akong masabi pa kundi tumango na lamang.
"This is convenient at this time sweetie. You're married na and I want me and your mother to feel at ease dahil alam namin kung saan ka nakatira and malapit lang sa amin," his father added. "Why are you always making me feel very important, I hate the two of you," she sobbed at tumawa lang ang magulang niya. "We love you too sweetie," they hugged her and all I did was stare and smile at them.
Avani's POV:
"Napaka-thoughtful ng parents ko Lauv," I uttered while waving my hands to my parents' car. "Very thoughtful, they really love you," I smiled.
"Tara na sa taas," pag-aaya ko sa kaniya at akmang tatalikod na nang magsalita siya ulit. "Let's go out for a date?" saad niya at hindi ko alam kung bakit tumibok ang puso ko ng wala sa oras. I held my chest and he panicked for a sec.
"May masakit ba sayo?" aniya na halatang kinakabahan. I smiled at his concern na mas naguluhan siya. "Walang masakit sakin, medyo na touched lang ako dahil nag-aya ka ng date," saad ko at tumawa siya ganon din ang paggulo niya ng buhok ko ng mahina.
"Let's go?" he asked and I nodded with a smile before he took the driver's seat and started the engine of the car. "Where exactly are we going?" I asked curiously. "Just somewhere," he simply replied.
It took us a lot of minutes until we reached a not so crowded restaurant and I think it was quite familiar for some reason. "Nakapunta na ba tayo dito dati?" tanong ko pagkababa namin ng sasakyan. Tinignan niya lang ako at hinawakan ang kamay ko.
"Maybe? Let's get inside?" aniya at naguluhan ako sa sinabi niya. Maybe? So he means yes? "Aren't you so sweet and thoughtful?" I smiled at him when he pulled out a chair for me at ganon din ang pagdating ng mga waiter na may dalang iba't ibang mga putahe.
Looks like he already had us reserved kanina pa, saktong-sakto at nagugutom na ako at si Nemo-- silly. "Not really, ano ka ba. Let's eat?" napakamot siya ng leeg. "I wasn't really planing for a date but then I remembered, it's mother's day today," he uttered while we were eating.
"I didn't know na mother's day pala, hindi ko man lang na greet si Mom kanina." Kinuha ko ang phone ko para sana tawagan si Mom at batiin nang magsalita ulit si Zach. "Huwag kang mag-alala, I had someone to deliver a bouquet of flowers too and a necklace she might like and I said it's both from me and you."
Maya-maya pa, one of the staff gave him a bouquet of beautiful flowers and he handed it to me at tinanggap ko naman iyon ng may ngiti sa aking labi. "T-thank you, pero hindi pa naman ako ina," pagtatawa ko ng mahina habang tinitignan ang mga bulaklak at inaamoy ang bango nito.
"Carrying my child is enough reason, so that already counts. Happy Mother's day Lauv," he implied and gave me a soft kiss on my lips. "Thank you Lauv, I promise to be a good mother to our children."
