ChapteR. 19 Calm down

Kokichi's POV:

"Fine, I killed Rantato."

(Y/n) was right.

I got a chill in my bones.
I instinctually looked at (Y/n) for her reaction, but I was too slow as she was already launching herself at Kaede.

People ran towards them as (Y/n) punch and hit Kaede. I also ran, just to follow people.

Kaito ripped her away from Kaede, and just like that she went limp.
I went to her side as Kaito set her down on the floor.

"Come on (Y/n), y-you just can do that..."

I whispered so no one could hear. I started to shake her to wake her up.
Slowly she opened her eyes, full of despair. She quietly smiled at me as she tried to get up.

While she tried to get up, people went back to their places, staying far away from Kaede.

(Y/n) stood up, fixing her posture, and looking up at everyone. I placed my hand on her shoulder but she coldly shook it away.

I honestly felt bad. But jealous?

She was getting this worked up about Rantaro. I hope she has that strong of feelings for me.

After rambling on, it was time for Kaede's execution.
I wasn't too thrilled to experience this, what would Monokuma do?
Electric chair? Lethal injection? Or hanging? Those are all the executions I know the government does.

We weren't prepared for what was to come.

We stood there for almost an hour as she helplessly was hung and swayed around.

One of them could probably have helped her, but no one moved.

I could not move, my hands were shaking and my eyes were blurry.

As I turned around, (Y/n) was staring head-on as she obviously held herself back. I didn't know what to do.
We were watching someone get killed in front of us and we couldn't do anything.

(Y/n)'s pov:

I didn't know what to think.

She had killed Rantara, so she was getting her punishment.
I should be happy right now, but...

Something felt wrong, I had chills down my back.

But she did kill Rantaro and now she was getting her punishment, so why was I feeling like something about this was wrong?

I tried to wrap my head around this.

Had Fuyuhiko gone through something like this?

Her dead body was crushed by a falling wall, I let out a small gasp like the other, there really wasn't a right reaction to all this.

Waited thinking I prayed that she was now in a better place.

I hadn't wished that she had gone through all this. It was too much for someone. Even for a murder.
