PIC OF Ren
Thursday morning came and the air was filled with no more tension. It was like nothing had ever happened the past few days and everything was just fine and dandy. However, we knew last night was not a dream and to prove it we realized that Ren was limping on his right leg whenever he walked. Lilly and I decided that we would keep quiet on our newfound discovery until lunch. Lunch came and Lilly and I decided that we would inconspicuously tell Ren that we knew about his second identity. However, Lilly had a different understanding of the word inconspicuous. She burst through the doors of the cafeteria with me in tow and marched right up to the table which Ren was eating lunch. If everyone had not seen Lilly when she had walked into the cafeteria, they surely saw her when she drowned Ren in his drink of lemonade.
" What the hell Lilly!", Ren exclaimed
" Why didn't you tell us you were an underground boxer.",Lilly asked Ren.
Ren's face instantly paled at the notion .
" I.....I don't know what you talking about.", he stuttered.
" Cut the act. Ry and I both know you're the Un....", Lilly was saying, before Ren's hand rudely covered her mouth before she could say anything else.
" How about we take this conversation outside Lils and Ry.", Ren said.
Lilly folded her arms but reluctantly followed Ren. I stayed silent as we made our way outside school to a nearby tree.
" Ok. Fine. Yes, I am " The Undefeated ", Ren said.
" Now, what do I have to
to keep you two silent about this?", he asked us
I instantly cut right to the chase and told him " You're going to teach us some fighting technique, so that when the time comes to do the physical tests in the Games we won't look like absolute failures."
" That's it. Well, in that case sure. We can even start after school if that's okay with you guys."
" Sure.", Lilly and I said simultaneously, actually surprised that he had so easily accepted our request.
After school Ren, Lilly and I made our way to the same gym in which Lilly and I had went to last night. Upon entering the gym I was greeted with the stench of sweat, the sound of fists meeting punchin bags and the rattling of chains. A girl looking about to be the same age as Lilly and I, sixteen came up to Ren and gave him some sort of friendship handshake.
" Joey. Meet Lilly and Ryana.", Ren said introducing us to the girl.
" Hi. My name is actually Joceline, but my friends call me Joey. Any friend of Ren's is a friend of mine, so feel free to call me Joey."
" You can call me Ry and you can call her Lils.", I replied to Joey with a warm smile.
Joey was of Asian decent. Her hair was straight and the colour black. Her eyes were a dark brown and were wide. She had a petite height and in addition she was in good shape. I wish I could have said the same for Lilly and I.
By the time Lillies and my training had ended it was past eleven o'clock, way past my curfew of ten, fourty-five. Ren drove me home first as a result of my lateness.
" I'll be praying for you.", Lilly said to me jokingly
" If I don't come back to school tomorrow you'll know what happened", I replied back to her.
I made my way through the front door as quietly as possible. Inside was dark as night, so I guess I had made it home before my mother. However, all hopes of that was ripped from my grasp when I made my way on the first steps of the staircase and something was hurled to the back of my head. It left a stinging sensation and so I turned around to see what it was. Unfortunately, I came face to face with my one and only mother, Sara Williams. My mother had straight black, burgundy highlited hair, that reached her at her upper back. Her skin tone resembled the colour of a French vanilla late. She was of petite height and her eyes dark brown, that it even looked black. Additionally, she was from the Caribbean island, Jamaica, hence the throwing of a slipper at my head.
