HELLEVATOR ERA
TWO WEEKS BEFORE DEBUT
// Third POV //
The rain that was falling felt like glass on Chan's face. The storm matched his mood; the waves of water that fell from the sky created the scene perfectly.
He just got out of a meeting with his furious CEO. The president harshly criticized BangChan's leadership, saying that he expected this problem to be over and dealt with. He was disappointed that Chan has not been keeping his members in line like he should be doing.
JYP ended with the statement that sent BangChan speeding into his thoughts:
"If you can't be an authoritative figure in Stray Kids then I'll find someone who will."
What JYP didn't understand was that it wasn't that easy.
Hyunjin and Jisung acted nicely in public but inside they were animals. The problems ultimately started when the nine of them moved in together. The two couldn't stand each other's presence and fought for the most insufficient reasons. They fought for the sake of fighting.
It crossed the line when their fights became physical. BangChan's alarm clock was a member coming into his room or studio and saying that Hyunjin and Jisung were fighting. It was intense fights too. They often left each other with scars, bloodily faces, and black eyes. Hyunjin was once beaten so badly that the stylist called the police to report assault, thinking that a sasaeng fan caused it.
When JYP found out, it was WW3.
He personally brought all nine of the members into his office for a long scolding. At the end, he declared to the two Koreans that their leader will be dealing with them.
Their leader didn't deal with them. BangChan loved his members so much, he was in the honeymoon stage with them. He thought that the issue would resolve itself, Hyunjin and Jisung were both teenagers and boys. It was given that they would fight. So Chan ignored it.
Big mistake.
The hate that grew between the two got strong. They would come to practice with bruises on their faces and would have limps when they walked.
The choreographer informed JYP and he was furious with the Australian. So furious that he got Mark, his strictest senior, to give him a long spanking. One that finally woke BangChan up.
This latest fight made the CEO reach his breaking point. He threatened the leader, he had passionate for Stray Kids but they would have no choice but to disband if Chris didn't do something.
BangChan cried in melancholy. All of his hard work, the lonely nights, the depression, it became too much for him. The thought of disbandment almost made his heart stop.
He didn't have a choice this time. If his members fought again, he had to punish them. Chan has been in Korea for six years at this point, a lot of people has punished him and he's watched other trainees get punished. However, BangChan was gentle. He spoiled his younger members with love and preferred if it would stay that way.
Chan was afraid. What if he did it wrong? What if they didn't forgive him? He's been in Korea long enough to develop himself in the culture. There wasn't a k-pop celebrity on planet Earth that weren't punished by someone in their company or agency at least once.
The Stray Kids members with older siblings had been punished by them in their childhoods and the members with younger siblings have given punishments.
His fears lessened an inch, of course they would forgive him. However, Chan was still nervous. He couldn't get anyone else to do it, it was his responsibility. He was oldest and the leader. He was a hyung now and he needed to start acting like it.
