Shell Cottage was the surprise vacation that George had lined up for the after wedding activities. It was also Bill's wedding gift. He had the house being prepared for him and Fleur to live in after they got married. George's thought about staying there was that it was so far removed from where the upcoming war was, that they could escape from it all. He knew things that were coming up that he was going to have to explain to her when they got back to the flat. Penny loved every day that they had spent at the cottage. There was no routine they had to follow. Sometimes, they would walk on the beach and dream about what the future of their lives together would be.
It was their last day of the seven at Shell Cottage when Penny wanted to visit the muggle town that she'd read about in the paper. "George, why don't we spend the day there?"
George, who was sitting across from her at the table, lowered his paper to smile at his curious wife. "I don't have any muggle money, darling."
Penny knew that he was going to say that. George was never as interested as his father in the muggle world. Sometimes it drove her a bit mad because she wanted to know. She had only seen a few things here and there when she was traveling with her dad or that one time with Ginny. "I do."
The paper that he raised, lowered again to look at her. "Fine, but you are not going wearing that."
She playfully rolled her eyes and ran into her bedroom to put on some warmer clothing then the pajamas she had on. Her wand made outfit picking easy. It put together the outfits so that she could see what it looked like before putting it on. Ultimately she ended up in some bell bottoms and a white turtleneck jumper. George was still out in the kitchen reading the Daily Prophet as she came out. "I'm ready."
He stood up, looked over what she was wearing and smiled. "Better." He maneuvered his wand to clean up the kitchen as they walked out the door holding hands. "Shall we?"
Penny nodded and they reappeared outside a mile outside of the muggle town. They didn't want to raise any suspicion. The town itself was full of life. There were shops everywhere and merchants selling anything imaginable. The two wizards made sure to keep their wands discreetly hidden from prying eyes. No need for any accidental magic. "Georgie look?" Penny began to drag her new husband towards the shop that had chocolates in the window.
There weren't that many people in the store so they walked to the counter right away. The man who they assumed was the owner of the store was a larger older roundish man. "Can I help you miss?"
"What would you recommend?"
George was still staring at the Chocolate that wasn't moving. It absolutely was amazing to him that muggles thought regular chocolate was interesting to them. "Get one of these honey? I'm intrigued." He pointed at a plate of chocolates that had animal faces on them.
Penny giggled a bit and nodded to the man who packaged them up. "We're new round here, anywhere good to eat?"
The man who was taking a liking to the strange couple that wandered into his shop answered with his honest opinion. "There is a small cafe two stores down from here. They have different foods and I get lunch there everyday."
George found his way back from staring at the muggle candy and joined hands with Penny who paid the man. This was a recurrence as they walked past shops. If George wanted to go in, Penny was staring at something new and vice versa. They both enjoyed the day out and brought home whatever they found delicious for dinner.
"George? I'm going to change and you better too." Penny called out to her husband in a flirty tone as she ran into the bedroom.
Unsure of how to tell Penny, he wandered into their bedroom with a solemn look on his face. "Pens, I think you need to sit down."
