To Penny and her father it could be the sunniest day, and the day she leaves for Hogwarts would be like standing in a hurricane. For Penny, she dreaded this day because it meant leaving her father all alone in their home. After her mother passed, it was just the two of them and she knew, just from what he wrote to her, that he missed having her around. Sometimes, Penny just wishes that he would meet someone, but his devotion to her mum reminds her of their love. He's done well in her childhood to show what her mum was like. It was a priority that they celebrated her birthday, instead of mourning her. He really tried to give Penny the love of two parents. Penny's father of course missed her while she was away, but he constantly worried about her safety. It's been proven in the past five terms that it may not be the most safe place and with his new position she would have a target on her back. The actual hurricane the both experienced was going through the train station, platform 9 ¾ was absolutely buzzing with new students excited to go away to magic school.

It was strange, Penny hadn't considered that this was her last train ride on the way to school. It was the beginning of her lasts at a place filled with friendships, adventure and literally magic. She had heard stories from her father about how his years went along and she was determined that this year was to be the year her kids hear about.

Royce helped hand her the trunk and her owl, Edie, to the man on the train. Her father pulled her in close and leaned his head on top of hers. "Be safe, Penny. When you get there. I think the world might be in peril but at least we'll be going through it together. Don't forget to write me, I mean it."

The whistle of the train released the hug between father and daughter. "Love you Dad!" Penny yelled as she boarded the train. Her father's words were running about her head as she searched the compartments for her friend. He never minces his words with her, and Penny was deeply grateful for that. There was always honesty between them, it made their bond much stronger.

She finally found Ruby in the compartment and was utterly surprised to see the Weasley twins there. It was surely a sight she wasn't used to. Ruby, though Penny would never admit it intimidated her. It was never in a malicious way but Ruby, in her mind, was the pretty friend. The star of the show, the lady that turned heads in the room, even the ghosts. The on again, off again hook up next to her in the cabin was Fred Weasley. Fred had more of a confident personality, which Penny secretly thought was the reason she picked Fred and not George. Both boys had a knack for pranks and their reputation as such followed them almost as much as their distinct red hair. It was safe to assume that Ruby and her pick had been writing over the summer, their easy bake romance was in the air.

It never really even crossed Penny's mind that she's never really spoken to either of them. The more she thought about it, however, the odder became. Fred was always sneaking into their room for late night mischief. Maybe there was no talking because she'd be forced to leave to the common room while they got it on. As always when Penny was near new people, Ruby introduced her. "Freddie, George I'm sure you know Penny."

As Ruby introduced Penny to the twins, she never let her eyes leave Fred. "Quite sadly, I don't think I've ever gotten her attention." George mutters while smiling at her.

Fred's attention shifted to Penny, just for a moment. "Are you sure you aren't a Weasley? I mean look at her George, she's got redder hair then Ginerva. We've only got one sister right?" The cabin knew that if Ginny had heard him use her full name, Fred would receive a beating.

Penny laughed slightly at the ginger, "I'm not a Weasley, although someone does ask me once a year and usually the new defense teacher."

George smirks, "Merlin's beard Freddie, she's too pretty to be one of us. No need to insult the poor girl."
