Royce Floyd and his daughter stared at the wardrobe that the late Roxanne's wedding dress was hanging. They were back in their own family home where the dress had been placed away for safekeeping.
Royce never instructed his daughter she needed to wear it but Penny insisted. It made him all the more proud of the women she was becoming. He remembered the dress on her mother like that had just recently been married and when Penny tried it on, she looked exactly like her mother. Penny's red hair struck out the most against the bright white dress. It was long puffy sleeves with sheer fabric decorated with little stars of thread. Under the long layers of the sheer star fabric was a simple white sleeveless dress to make the sheer loose fabric. Penny loved everything about the dress.
"The first time your mum ever saw me cry was when she was wearing that dress." Penny looked at her dad who was ready to tear up at any moment. "She's smiling at us right now."
Penny had tears in her eyes as well. She hugged her father. "I know she is. Thank you for being such an amazing mum and dad to me."
He rubbed her back and hid his face from the tears. "I've always tried my best Penny. Are you sure you're ready to do this? You can always come back home and stay with me."
She laughed through her tears. "I'm sure. What are you going to do now that I will officially be someone else's problem?"
He released her from the hug and sat down on his stool. "Well, George asked to have the wedding here. Just wanted it to be close family and such. After that, I'll clean up, continue my work traveling and wait for grandchildren. Not immediately." Her eyes rolled and went into a separate room to change back. "Penny, Mrs. Weasley gave me the pair of rings for you and George. You want to see?"
She finished changing and came out to see the rings. Penny's was a smaller, thin gold band that matched the ring George gave her last year. George's was slightly thicker but it was gold. They matched like any classic wedding rings. "They're great."
They needed to get back to the Burrow for Christmas eve.
Back at the burrow, the gift exchanges had already begun. It took an hour to deal out everyone's gift waiting to save George for last. Fred actually enjoyed his prank box. His first attempt to open to it, he was shocked. Next soaked in water. After he figured out that each attempt earned a prank he went around the house getting people to try it. It was the perfect distraction for George and Penny to sneak into his room. He waited as she got away from his family, gift in hand. "Close your eyes."
He did as she said. "I hope you know that I am your Christmas gift this year."
"Hand George." Penny instructed and placed her box in his hand. "Now open your eyes and open it."
As George unwrapped the paper, and opened the box a smile crept on his face. "This is absolutely brilliant Pens." He kissed her thank you.
"I can add hands depending on who you want. I just thought it could be a little piece of home you'll always have with you. I love you." The two started to fulfil their promise made earlier.
It seemed if any outsider was watching the two, that they had been separated for years and this was their reuniting. But it wasn't, it didn't need to be for the two to celebrate their bodies together. There was a primal sense of being needed that both displayed. George found himself on top of his fiance. He took in every moment of her that he could before hormones no longer allowed him to. His lips explored every inch of her exposed body as she begged him for more. Penny couldn't help the moans escaping her lips as he kissed her. George made a habit of kissing her scar lines as an effort to make her feel more beautiful. When he was ready to please Penny again, he took it slow. She instructed him on doing so. Penny never wanted these stolen moments to end. His hips began to buck faster which drew both closer to the end. George kissed Penny deeply to keep her as quiet as possible.
