Before you knew it your first day back at school arrived.
"I'll see you in English," Nejire said before rushing off to her homeroom. She was in the hero course so you didn't get to see her much throughout the day. While she was off training and doing hero exercises, your days consisted mainly of marketing and advertising classes. You've always dreamed of being in the business course but you couldn't help be jealous of Nejire.
The first half of the day dragged on. You didn't have a lot of friends to talk to so you mainly kept to yourself. As a third year you expected to be hit with a bunch of homework right off the bat but it was mostly the same introductory speeches as the previous two years.
Once 11am hit, you headed to English. Finding Nejire wasn't difficult at all. She was plopped down in a seat closest to the teacher's desk. You expected no less from her. You preferred to sit in the rear of the classroom but being next to your only friend in the class was imperative to surviving the school year.
You were so focused on where to sit that you didn't notice the large classroom door swinging open behind you.
"Let's take our seat (L/N)-san," said Present Mic in his usual loud tone. You still find it hard to believe it gets louder.
"Sorry professor." You bowed your head, slightly embarrassed, as you made your way to the seat besides Nejire. She gave you an empathetic smile before returning her eyes to her reason of infatuation.
Right as you were taking your seat the boy seated behind your new desk pulled the chair out from under you. You managed to use your hand to lessen the blow as you hit the floor, or so you thought. Pain immediately shot up your index finger.
"(Y/n)!" Nejire exclaimed as she examined the pain that spread across your face.
"DISQUALIFIED! Make your way to the office!!" Present Mic declared to the boy. His announcer persona never waivered it seemed, even when reprimanding students.
"She's gotta see Recovery Girl, Present Mic sensei!" Nejire was growing more concerned of your injury the longer you sat there speechless.
"All Right! Would you escort her Nejire-san?" Mic asked. She looked away from him and faced you with a beat red complexion. He could tell her to write a 30 page paper and she would probably feel even more infatuated.
Nejire nodded and helped you up. "Talk about a first day," she whispered in your ear as she escorted you out the door.
"I'm fine Nejire, just in shock. I think I may have sprained my finger though," you replied as you raised your now swollen finger. This was embarrassing. she tried to hide it but you could tell she was a little annoyed that she had to leave her only time of day staring at Present Mic. "Sorry."
She looked at you confused at first but then immediately knew what you meant when you locked eyes. "S'okay." She let out a sigh. "You matter more to me than some unattainable eye candy." She gave you a reassuring smile.
"Ladies." A low, booming voice echoed in the hallway behind you. "Aren't we supposed to be in class right now?" You froze in place. It wasn't a voice familiar to you yet you had a feeling you've heard it somewhere before.
"I'm just escorting (y/n) to Recovery Girl. She thinks she may have a sprain in her finger," Nejire answered the voice while spinning around to face the person it belonged to. Great, this teacher probably thinks you're a total sissy now, not something you want to be labeled as for a UA student.
You took a deep breath and slowly turned around as well, the presumed judgement in the air weighing heavily on you.
"Yellow..." you whispered aloud as your eyes met the suit jacket of the large figure in front of you.
