To Catch a Ladybug

Chapter 11

Lilith's POV
After Marinette left I pulled out my phone and clicked on a contact. It rings a few times before being answered. "H-hello?" A scared voice says. "It's time, have you made a decision? Will you work with me or not?" I ask, making my way home. "I'll do anything you want, but please let me go after this." They plead. "That depends on how you perform. I'll see you soon." I say before hanging up. I grip the pendant in my hand and grin. My plan will finally start, and I will get Ladybug and Cat Noir's miraculous.

Marinette's POV
A giant fox? Only one person would create that as their first sentimonster, Lila. But she was being held captive by Lilith. That must mean she's working with her now. This isn't going to end well. Maybe she's still in Lilith's basement. If she is then we can get to her and take back the miraculous. Glancing over I notice Alya waiting for my directions. "We go to Lilith's house. She's holding Lila in her basement and making her use the miraculous." I explain, jumping towards the house. I just hope this'll work and we get the miraculous.

After a few minutes of running we make it to Lilith's house. I look around but don't see her anywhere. We quietly slip through the door and make our way towards the basement. I signal to stop and listen. No sounds at all. That means either they left or they're hiding. As quietly as possible I open the door and step down the stairs. It takes a moment for my eyes to adjust to the dim light. When I can see I notice a person standing in the corner. It's Lila, and she doesn't seem to be injured.

Alya searches the rest of the basement as I approach Lila carefully. "Lila? Are you ok?" I ask quietly. She looks up and nods. It's obvious how exhausted she is. "Lets get you out of here." I mutter as I lead her away. She doesn't object and just follows me like an injured puppy. I feel really bad for her. I should've come back for her sooner. If I had, then none of this would be happening right now. But I was selfish and didn't bother thinking about anyone other than myself. Some superhero I am, leaving her to suffer.

Luka's POV
A few hours after Mari left I hear her return. She opens the door and I'm surprised to see her as Ladybug. But I'm even more surprised to see her carrying a person. She gently sets the person down on the couch and I see their face. It's Lila. "Lila. Wake up." Mari says gently. The girl's eyes open slowly and she looks around. "I'm going to leave you in the care of a few of my friends." Mari says before walking over to the door. "Luka, make sure to take care of her." She says as she leaves.

It doesn't take long before Mari is walking through the door again. This time she isn't transformed. "Luka, I'm back." She calls out. Lila wakes up from the noise. A few seconds later Mari 'notices' her. "Lila?!" She exclaims in fake surprise. "What's going on?" She asks, pretending to panic. "Mari calm down. Ladybug brought her here and asked if we could take care of her until she heals." I explain quickly. She calms down with that and seems to think for a moment. Then she grabs my hand and drags me away, far enough so Lila can't hear us.

Marinette's POV
I close the door and look at Luka. "I'm so sorry for dropping her here without asking. I didn't know where else I could take her." I say quickly. "It's fine. We'll make sure she gets healed." He says with a smile. "But first, tell me what happened to her." He says, getting serious. "Lilith kidnapped her and held her in a basement for who knows how long." I explain with a sigh. "I should have gone back for her sooner." I say guiltily. "You did the best you could." He says comfortingly, pulling me into a hug.

I walk back over to Lila and smile. "Is there anything I can get you?" I ask gently. She shakes her head. "You look like you haven't slept properly in ages. Go take a nap in my bed." I tell her, pointing to my room. She nods and slowly makes her way over there. I watch as she stumbles clumsily into the room. Hopefully she'll get better in a few days. I can't bear to watch someone suffer this much. It's just not right. How could someone put another person in so much pain? It's against human nature.

I wake up the next morning and I feel really stiff. Since Lila was sleeping in Luka and I's bed we had to sleep in the living room. I ended up sleeping on the floor while Luka slept on the couch. And now I regret it. My back is killing me. If Lilith releases an akuma today I might just die. Figuratively of course. But it'll definitely be a pain in the ass to fight while I'm this sore. Let's just hope that she doesn't release one. But who am I kidding, she most likely will. That's jut my type of luck.

The day goes by quickly and to my surprise no akumas were released. I'm not going to complain about that. Just means less work for me to do today. And I definitely needed a break. Now I'm feeling more refreshed and relaxed. So if Lilith wants a fight any time soon, she'll get one. And it sure as hell won't be easy for her. I'll shatter her spirit and will to fight. Then I won't have to deal with her ever again. That will be the best thing in the entire world. When I don't have to deal with her.
