To Catch a Ladybug

Chapter 5

Lilith's POV
I was really excited to see Marinette at the restaurant today. But my mood turned sour when I heard her talking about wanting to get married. I finished my shift and returned to my house. After sulking for a few hours I get an idea. I look through my closet trying to find something. After a few minutes I pull it out and grin. Rummaging through my safe I pull out a small box. It's time to give the peacock miraculous to someone and I know who the perfect candidate is. We'll create the greatest monster ever.

Marinette's POV
It's been a few weeks and I find the lack of akumas suspicious. Even though we've been looking for this person for over a year we haven't found any trace of them. We don't even know what they call themself. It's so frustrating to sit around and not be able to do anything. And almost as if they knew what I was thinking the news said the person was asking us to meet them. It's obviously going to be a trap but I can't refuse. We might get the opportunity to seize their miraculous and end this nonsense.

Alya, Nino, Luka, and I jump over the rooftops of Paris. After a few minutes we arrive to the place where the person wanted to meet us. I look around but don't see anyone. "Of course they aren't here." I mutter quietly. "Actually I am." A feminine voice says. I whip my head around to see a young woman our age sitting on a chimney. "So nice of you to meet me here. I wasn't sure you'd actually come." She says with mock sweetness. "The name's Lilacmoth." She says, dropping down. "I'm here to make a deal." She says with a grin.

A deal? Why would she think we would make a deal with her. I inspect the person in question. Her dress is made of lilac moth wings. Her hair matches the color of her dress and is tied up in a bun. And her weapon is a cane that's fashioned to look like a scepter. "What kind of deal are you thinking?" I ask, my eyes narrowed with suspicion. "I give you the moth and peacock miraculous. In return you reveal your identities to the public." She replies with a grin. I can hear my team murmuring behind me.

Lilith's POV
Ladybug turns around to discuss it with her team. I already know what the answer is going to be. She's obviously not going to agree. "We'll do it." She says, turning back towards me. I was mistaken. "Give us the peacock miraculous and Rena Rouge and Carapace will reveal their identities. Cat Noir and I will reveal our identities after you give us the moth miraculous." She says, holding her hand out. I stare at it for a second. "You're actually going to do it?" I ask, bewildered. "I think it's time Paris knows their heroes."

Marinette's POV
Lilacmoth stares at me in confusion. "You're not afraid of them judging you for who you really are?" She asks quietly. I shake my head. She actually thinks I'm going to do it, what an idiot. "I don't have the other miraculous. I'll meet you tomorrow with it." She says after a few seconds. I quickly agree and set a time and place. She dashes away without looking back. The four of us split up and transform back. I look around and start walking to the park. After a few minutes I arrive and find the others waiting for me.

The next morning I wake up early and transform. I move around the city, making sure there aren't any unexpected akumas. After checking the city I return home and spend a few hours making new designs. "We should head out." Luka says from behind me. I check my phone and smile. It's time to put the plan in action. After texting Alya and Nino I transform and go to the meeting place. The two of them are going to watch for Lilacmoth. When they see her they'll contact me. As if on cue I get a call from Alya.

Lilith's POV
I make it to the meeting place to find Ladybug and Cat Noir standing there. Ladybug is talking to someone and she sounds frustrated. "What do you mean you can't make it?" She says angrily. "Carapace isn't here either!" She exclaims. "I can't just cancel the meeting. She'll be here soon." She says before going quiet. After a few seconds she speaks again. "Fine, but if she calls off the deal and we don't get the miraculous I'm going to be pissed." She says angrily before hanging up. I clear my throat, alerting them to my presence.

Marinette's POV
I hang up and hear Lilacmoth clear her throat. I turn around and sigh. "Is it possible to postpone this till tomorrow?" I ask, trying to sound frustrated. "Rena Rouge and Carapace can't make it today." I say with another sigh. She glares at me with suspicion for a few minutes. "Fine. But if you don't show tomorrow the deals off." She says, turning and dashing away. I smile to myself as I walk in the opposite direction. Dropping into a nearby alley Luka and I transform back. It doesn't take long for his phone to start ringing.

After a few minutes he hangs up. "I've gotta go but I'll see you later." He says, giving me a kiss before running off. I walk towards my parents bakery, hoping to continue working on my latest outfit. I make it halfway there before being stopped. "Hey Marinette!" A voice says behind me. I turn around and see a shock of crimson hair. "Um, hi." I say nervously. "You probably don't remember me. But we went to the same school. My name's Lilith by the way." She says with a cheery smile. I return the smile right before everything goes black.
