To Catch a Ladybug

Chapter 14

Alya's POV
I wake up to a blinding light. Ugh my head is killing me. Where am I? And what happened? After a second the room comes into focus. Am I in a hospital? Shit! The baby! Please let the baby be alright. Right then a nurse walks in, interrupting my panic. "Ms. Césaire, I'm glad to see you're awake." She says kindly. She looks down at her clipboard asks starts talking about different test results. Then she pauses and looks at me. "Your baby is doing just fine. No problems whatsoever." I smile with relief when she says that.

Marinette's POV
It's been months since we all got captured. Lilith hasn't released another akuma. I should probably search the city again. Maybe I'll actually find her this time. And take back the miraculous. Then I'll finally be able to relax again. But I have to focus on finding her. Where would she hide in the city? Or would she leave? I have absolutely no leads and no ideas on how to find her. This is going to be hell. Total and complete hell. Can someone just end my suffering now? Or at least give me a clue to Lilith's whereabouts.

I wake up and get ready for the day. Alya and I are going shopping for more baby stuff. So I have to hurry if I don't want to be late. "Bye Luka!" I say as I run out the door. When I get to the mall I see Alya waiting. I start to walk over to her but stop when I hear someone behind me. "I'd be shame if something happened to her. Right Ladybug?" A soft voice whispers behind me. What the hell! I turn around quickly and see Lila. Of course she's working with Lilith. Fuck.

I try to look surprised. "What are you talking about?" I ask, feigning fear. "It's amazing how much you can learn from someone's eyes." She says with a smirk. "Then why haven't you told Lilith?" I ask with a glare. "How did you know I haven't told her?" She asks with surprise. "It's amazing how much you can learn from someone's eyes." I say in a mocking tone. She seems surprised by my mocking and is left speechless. "Well it doesn't matter. You're coming with me unless you want something to happen to her." She says with a smirk.

I pull out my phone and Lila frowns. "What are you doing?" She asks, ready to snatch my phone. "Telling Alya that I can't make it. You don't want her to get suspicious do you?" I reply calmly. She thinks it over for a minute before shrugging. "Whatever, just don't do anything stupid." She says, still frowning. I call Alya and wait for her to pick up. "Mari! I've been waiting for you. Where the hell are you?!" She exclaims, annoyed. "Sorry Alya, I cant make it. I have to take care of something important." I say quickly before hanging up.

I follow Lila away from the shopping center. Sticking my hands in my pockets I sigh. This is going to be a long day. I feel my phone and get an idea. Without letting Lila know I call Alya again. After I'm sure she would've picked up I start talking to Lila. "So where are you taking me? Some super secret villain base?" I ask in a mocking tone. "No, I'm taking you to see Lilith. So she can deal with you herself." She replies, obviously annoyed. Hiding my grin I hang up the phone. Now Alya will find me.

Alya's POV
A few minutes after Mari called me she called again. I can barely hear her talking to someone. Then she hangs up again. Even though it was barely audible I heard what they were saying. And it's obvious that Lila is taking her to Lilith. The only way she would go is if someone were threatened. It was likely that I was the one being threatened. So that means it's a good chance they're near here. After looking around I see Mari's car. I make my way over to it and see Lila and Mari not far away.

I follow them at a safe distance until they turn around a corner. Dammit, if I follow them I'll be spotted. What am I going to do? Wait, I know! "Trixx. I need you." I say softly. She flies out of my bag and yawns. "I need you to follow Marinette without being seen by the person with her." I explain quickly. She nods and flies off in the direction I pointed. I sigh and pull out my phone, dialing Nino. After a few short rings it goes to voicemail. "Hey dude you've reached Nino. Leave a message or whatever."

Luka's POV
About fifteen minutes after Mari left I get a call from Alya. She explained that Mari was being taken to Lilith. After she hung up I ride the bus to the mall and look for her. I see her standing around waiting for me. She sees me as I make my way over to her. When I get there she explains everything to me. She leads me to the place she last saw Mari. After a while I see Trixx flying towards us. "I know where she took her. But I think Lila saw me when I left."

I quickly run, following the directions Trixx gave me. I know Mari can take care of herself but I don't want to take any chances. If Lila has a chance to hurt her, she'll take it. And if she did see Trixx then she'll be pissed. I have to get there before she completely snaps and hurts Mari. After a few more minutes I arrive in front of a small building. Without stopping I jump through the window. I land in front of a very shocked Lila. Mari's standing behind her looking unamused by my dramatic entrance. Then she arrives.
