To Catch a Ladybug

Chapter 12

Lilith's POV
After making my partner release the fox sentimonster I wait for Ladybug to go rescue Lila. I placed a camera on her and hopefully I'll be able to get some info. So now we wait for my alarm to go off. And as if on cue, it does. I tap into the video feed and watch as Ladybug carries her somewhere. It doesn't take long for me to recognize the place. It's Marinette's apartment. And after dropping off Lila, Ladybug leaves. This was a total waste of time. I didn't learn anything except Marinette is friends with Ladybug.

Marinette's POV
When I brought Lila to my apartment I noticed a camera. It was almost invisible, hidden in her bracelet, but I somehow knew it was there. Now I have to find a way to get it off her without letting Lilith know I found it. I might not be able to grab her bracelet, but I might as well tell Lila to take a shower. Even if I can't destroy the camera it'll help her feel better. I walk over to Lila and smile. "Maybe a shower will help you. I'll get you a change of clothes and you just relax." I say gently.

After a while Lila is showered, has no camera on her, and taking a nap. Poor girl is exhausted. I should go to the store and buy an air mattress or something. Cause there is no way in hell I'm sleeping on the floor again. And while I'm out I'll talk to Alya. We need to create a plan to take down Lilith. But I can't do much while Lila is still recovering. Sitting and waiting sucks. Every time my phone goes off I think it's an akuma. But thankfully it never is. Although the lack of akumas makes me think she's planning something.

It's been a week and Lila is almost back to normal. There still haven't been any akumas. Either Lilith is planning something or something happened to her. And I'm really hoping for the latter. But with my luck it's the former. But it's not like I can do anything about it either way. I just have to wait and see what happens. Which sucks because I absolutely despise waiting. It's a literal fucking nightmare. I never know when she's going to try something and it puts me on edge. Why can't I just fight her and be done with it?

Lila decided to leave today. She said she's feeling a lot better and doesn't want to bother us anymore. I watch as she walks down the street and disappears around a corner. I think she'll be ok. But we have to hope Lilith doesn't go near her again. That would be really bad. And as if on cue I get an akuma alert. Not how I wanted to spend my day. Although it is weird how there haven't been any akumas while Lila was with us, and right after she leaves one attacks. That can't be a coincident, right?

After the fight I wave to Alya and Nino before we go our separate ways. It was a fairly easy fight but it didn't help us get Lilith's miraculous. And we still don't know where the peacock miraculous is. But we'll get it back eventually. It'll just take some time. And lots of hard work. We just have to keep going and never give up. Eventually we'll get it and be able to relax. And when that day comes it'll all be worth it. I just hope it comes soon, really soon.

A gentle tap on my shoulder pulls me out of my thoughts. I look over at Luka. "You ok Ma Chérie?" He asks gently. "Just a little distracted." I reply with a smile. He returns the smile and gives me a kiss. "You're always distracted." He says with a small laugh. I can't help but giggle with him. He takes a seat beside me on the couch. Leaning against him I realize how tired I am. Since I saved Lila I haven't slept properly. So I close my eyes and take a much needed nap.

When I wake up I immediately notice that I'm not on my couch anymore. I look around but can't see anything. Suddenly I hear someone cough. Turning in the direction of the sound I gasp. This can't be happening.

~I'm back!!! Sorry for the short chapter and cliffhanger. But I hope you enjoyed. I wanted to tell you I won't be updating this regularly. But I'll try to give you a new chapter soon. Also I'm going to be ending the story in the next few chapters. Have a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and everything else!
