"So what is it that you have to show me?", America said in a monotone voice.
"Das Machine I've made, and vait before you start judging I am sure it would vork", Germany said excitedly turning on the machine. America was unimpressed, that is what Germany said every single time, and everytime something bad happened. When was Germany going to accept that none of his inventions are going to work?
"Fine but if it doesn't work you owe me oil", America said trying to not be mean.
"Ja that sounds fair", Germany said, getting the last settings ready.
"You got a minute tops", America said.
"And there it is", Germany said, rolling his eyes a bit.
"What can you say I am busy man", America said leaning back on a chair.
"Ja Ja whatever it is ready", Germany said, backing away from the machine.
"Okay what it do? ", America asked, standing up from the chair.
"Vell is supposed to split something in the perfect parts that make the most sense", Germany said, placing down one serving of m&ms and shooting the laser. There was a flash of light and the m&ms were successfully split into four cateriors.
"Impressive Germany but all those wires for something that already exists?"America says repositioning his sunglasses so his eyes were more covered up.
"This vas just a test. It is really meant to be able to split atoms and protons. Possible countries", Germany said.
"Keep talking", America said, getting more curious.
"Like spitting...You know it is becoming more and more common and I don't think we need wars about land issues especially with all the things going on now", Germany said a bit more sadly.
"I see you have good intentions but I advise more tests before we try it on countries kay?", America said looking at the machine.
"Ja don't worry America", Germany said.
"Good because I am not in the mood to be chasing you down", America chuckled , took off his sunglasses and rubbed his eyes only to put them back one before Germany even got a glimpse of America's eyes.
"Vell wanna see one more test before you go", Germany said, going to retrieve the m&ms.
"Sure but 30 seconds", America jokes.
"*sigh* even when you are tired you feel the need to make jokes", Germany said before replacing a cup of coffee on the big X instead of the bag of chocolate. America just stared at Germany.
"Come on even through the pitch black sunglasses I see the bags under your eyes. Something in your country or something more?" Germany said, showing his concern. (um...riots, Covid 19 and now the division from the voting)
"I am fine let's see the next test", America said, avoiding the subject. Germany simply sighed and nodded. He hated when America lied to him especially when it came to America's personal health, but he couldn't blame him. Germany knew well about lying to not worry others but this was a totally new level of it. If Germany and him hadn't known each other for as long as they had then Germany would have never caught that lie.
" Ja ready," Germany said, pressing the button. Nothing happened for a minute and Germany began to wonder if the machine had broken. Then it began shaking rapidly and light beams were going everywhere.
America ran up to the controls and began trying to turn the machine off with no avail. It seemed like there was going to be a mess to matter what he did, but still he tried. He wasn't going to give up that easily.
"Germany how do you -", America couldn't finish his sentence when he was pushed back from an explosion. The room became dark and the machine was broken. Test tubes were shattered and filled the floor.
Germany lifted his head and sat upright on the floor. He looked at his leg and saw a glass shard emerged in his leg. His mind inched him to remove it but he contained himself knowing that he should try to find something to stop the bleeding before he attempted to remove it. He looked around the room to see if there was a first aid kit anywhere, but none was in sight.
..Lucky him....
