Today may not have started out amazing but my mom was right. I just needed the right person to set it all straight. It's just me and Ricky against the world right now I mean considering he's my only friend here.

You sure he's a friend ?

We hopped back on his skateboard as he tried to redeem himself

" Can't imagine losing to me can you Richard?" I said smiling knowing full well he hated it

" Well, Aliyah .. as long as it's with you it's fun." He said smiling down at me

His helmet forced his curls to push down. I giggled as a small curl stood out from the helmet. Falling into his face.

"Hey, Richard.."

The question swept into my mind but part of me felt wrong for asking

"do you miss Nini," I asked

His eyes softened looking over at me, a tough question for him I could tell

" She was my best friend and my girlfriend. I'll always miss her." he said softly

" I'm sorry Ricky."

He nodded and kept walking his board wrapped under his arm. I tugged on the board put it on the ground and hugged him. His eyes showing he was shocked but I didn't care. I just wanted to make him feel better. I let go and he held onto my elbows keeping me close

I looked up and we stared at each other for a moment. He began leaning down. My heart rate speeding up as my cheeks became red

" Hey, Aliyah stop flirting with dollar store Nick Jonas, and let's go." I heard from behind Ricky

Luke stood propped up against the wall one leg bent. His arms crossed and an annoyed look on his face. I pulled back from Ricky.

" I'm sorry did I read that wrong, man I always do that.."

" No no you're fine," I said squeezing his shoulder

" I just have a curfew" I lied

The first day and I lied to him.

" Today was fun, thank you," I said

I kissed his cheek and walked away not thinking

" That your boyfriend Peters?" Luke asked as he annoyingly followed me

" Not now Luke." I replied

"Hey, I mean I'm just saying you could do better."

"His lips don't even look that kissable." He said tucking his hands in his pockets.

" Why do you care?" I asked

" No reason just curious." He said raising his eyebrows as he spoke

"So is he your boyfriend or not princess?"

"Not.." I replied headed to my front door

"Good" he muttered under his breath

He rushed up next to me causing his chains to make noise. I opened the back gate. With a snap, the doors to the garage opened.

I looked at him confused

" Ghost stuff." He smirked

I grabbed the sunset curve CD hoping it would play. The first song began.

"Take off last stop..."

there was a pop of purple smoke I coughed turning around

"Really Luke? I was with Willie." A voice said annoyed from behind me

He ran his hands through his disheveled hair.
The tall blonde boy in a pink sweatshirt analyzed the room. He looked at me with a confused look.

"Oh.. hi Alex how are ya." He said shyly tucking his hands into his small pockets

"Where's Reggie," Luke asked

"He's coming," Alex replied

The garage doors swung open and in came Reggie. His flannel flowing behind him as it wrapped tightly around his waist. His leather jacket making a crinkling noise as he walked.

"Man I miss Ray's cooking. That man could cook."

" This new lady burns all the toast.." he said pouring

My eyes began to water as I stood in place. I felt like I couldn't move.

"Reggie.."

He looked up his eyes locked on me and he ran to hug me. I squeezed him tightly. Something was different it wasn't the same as when I held Luke's hand.

Reggie let go and smiled

"Aliyah, I really meant to be there, I even saw your performances when I could." his words running a million miles per hour trying to say 16 years of words and missed opportunity

" I'm sorry I didn't get to be your big brother." He said as his cheeks glowed a red tint

Luke's eyes softened as he listened to Reggie

" So my connection to Reggie is why I can see you guys?" I asked

They shook their heads, Alex gave Luke an odd look.

They've had this happen before?

" Who was she ?" I asked

" I definitely see the relation," Alex said trying to change the subject

" Julie.." Luke responded staring at his sneakers

" She left with her dad, she used to live here and now her aunt owns the house. But it used to be our recording space." Luke said

" Julie's mom helped us out when we were on our own. She let us live here, once we died and came back as ghosts.."

"Julie helped us find our purpose."

I looked down towards my sneakers. Luke stared at me waiting for a response.

Luke's P.o.v
There's a reason for her being here I can feel it! She has to be our unfinished business. It's no coincidence that every-time I see her I light up.

Or why you get so annoyed when she flirts with Richard

what kind of name is Richard

I rolled my eyes

End of p.o.v

" Luke!" I said waving my hand in front of his face

The boys had left the room, Luke snapped out of his daze

"Why do you need me if Julie was your purpose." I asked

"We need you to be apart of our band."

I shook my head no as I crossed my arms

" Don't do this to me princess." he said frowning

"No I only sing for myself Luke."

" you know you want to ." He said poking the
air

"What if I choke up or worse forget the lyrics" I refused

"I'll help that's why I'm here." He replied

" fine.." I said reluctantly

" I can't play any instruments so how am I supposed to help."

" I'll teach you the guitar." He said smiling

His bad-boy persona started to fade as I spoke to him. I think even he started to notice. He had been a few steps away, but just an inch from me now.

He reached for my hand, flickering again.

He pulled back

" don't tell them about that." he said walking inside
