My teacher spent our whole class trying to fix the audio to a video. So I just sat there finishing this chapter for ya'll because screw productivity 😌👍
It's been about 5 years since she moved from America. She was around 10 years old now and was still forced to endure the wrath of her mother. As far as she remembered, her mother never hit her, it was a more mental or emotional abuse.
The constant guilt tripping over the death of her father really destroyed any real confidence the girl had. Not to mention, she feared touching literally anything living since she felt so 'cursed'.
She didn't make friends at school, barely talked, and she felt even less alive at home.
But... there was this one day especially that she could never forget. She knew it wasn't possible to because she'd already tried, over and over again. This day was especially important because she had stayed home from school today from a cold.
Yes... she was stuck in this cage with her neglectful mother. In the beginning, it wasn't all that bad. I mean really, she stayed locked in her room to shiver under her blanket covers for most of the day. She knew if she'd asked for help all she would get was a, 'do it yourself, you selfish brat,' accompanied by a scowl.
But god, she was so hungry. In this house her mother kept so fucking cold, all she wanted was something to eat. So she rose from her coffin of a bed and weakly made her way out of her room.
She heard the tv she wasn't allowed to use, playing in the living room, and the laundry machine finishing its drying cycle. The day was average so why did it have to become so crucial to her life?
As she approached the stairs to start walking down them, she heard the door to her mothers room swing open. Her head whipped around so fast out of fearing the worst. There she was, her mother, coming out of her room to go down the stairs and probably check on the laundry.
The girl watched as the women looked up from her phone and saw her standing there, frozen, at the top of the stairs. Her long blue hair was swept to the side and the women's e/c eyes seemed to narrow out of pure disgust at her own daughter.
"Well? Move it, I don't have all day, bitch," she told her, and she quickly nodded, a soft, "s-sorry," leaving her lips.
"Huh?! Speak up when you're talking to me, I can't hear you when you mumble like some sort of coward," she growled, and the girl felt her lip quiver.
"I'm sorry," she spoke clearly. Hearing her own voice shake along with her stuffed nose made her sound even weaker and she hated herself for it.
