She tensed at the change in lighting before freezing for an entirely different reason. Her back was facing Bakugou but the dead silence was enough of a tell.
He was staring wide eyed at the back of her head. Not wanting to register the familiar shade of h/c he tried looking anywhere but, but all that had done was make the ash blond recognize her similar posture and body type.
He didn't have time to start yelling because the words got suck in his throat when she started turning around. He didn't want to confirm it, didn't want to see the face that kept him awake for hours in person again. But his internal pleas had done nothing to deter her actions.
Their eyes had found one another all too easily. Bakugou felt his jaw tightening as the fire in his eyes connected with her empty ones that remained the same even in this situation. His hatred for those eyes sparked a familiar heavy weight in his chest that had him trembling.
How could someone be so passive? Her sole presence here was making him sick, why was she here? His fists seemed to shake as she blankly stared back with her weight lazily rested on one hip. The fire in his eyes blazed.
His own strides practically left scorch marks in the ground as he sprinted at her with an empty throat, his expression was telling enough that he had the intent to exchange blows and capture her.
But he was taken by surprise when she actually took a fighting stance. Her visibly putting effort in told him she had no intent on letting him win. It made Bakugou all the more hostile knowing she cared for something that completely went against him.
He sent his classic right hook her way and she easily blocked the harsh blow with her forearm before aiming a jab right at his abdomen. But he caught her hand just as fast. They glared at each other with different motivations, but an overall determined intent still lived in both their chests.
Her arm shook as Bakugou tried using his anger to push through the block she put up. But all she'd done was smirk despite the physical discomfort.
"We've got to stop meeting like this," she remarked, her long overdue snarky comments now feeling like aggressive stabs at his patience rather than terms of endearment.
He seethed, putting more force into his right arm as she still resisted against his weight with the greatest fortitude he'd ever seen from her. It only aggravated him further. He squeezed the fist he had caught as a result, essentially caging her in with his inhuman strength.
He noticed her lips slightly press together out of annoyance from his actions and thought he had the upper hand. Though she must've realized she couldn't hold this position forever because Y/n had relaxed the muscles in the arm that was holding his back. She quickly ducked as Bakugou could now easily swing his fist, but his knuckles hadn't connected with anything and instead flew just above her head.
