Kaya sat up suddenly, cold sweat dripping down her face and back. All that knowledge and history of her order swarming around in her head, threatening to overwhelm with everything she now knew about the Wyrm.
If they could just find that spell and the Weapons of the group of Riders and dragons that died and became the Great Beast then there was a chance they could actually kill the Wyrm this time and not lock it away like Viserra, Lycaena, and the others did. She had to find them and fast if they wanted to save Erdas from total destruction.
If only Vissera, Lycaena, and that mysterious "A" were still alive, then maybe they could help them.
"Just focus on one thing at a time." Whiteout said to her, helping to clear her mind of all the cluttered information welling up inside. "We'll get to that point when we do. For now we just need to relay this information to Anaba and hopefully get started on stopping the Wyrm before it is released from its prison under the Evertree."
"You're right," Kaya said, standing up, knocking the old, musty book off the table.
Cringing at what she had done to the book, Kaya swooped down to pick the book up, checking it for any damages. It was perfectly sound to her relief.
"Come on let's go." Kaya said to Whiteout.
As the two left, neither of them noticed the slightly transparent dark skinned man watching from the darkness of library.
Walking over to the book, he pulled something out from a tear in the leather, tucking it in the back of the book for the two to find later.
Then he faded away with the rising sun.Millions of miles away at the bottom tip of Nilo was the magnificent young Evertree in all its fading glory.
In the dark shadowed branches of the silver tree watched a young girl with garnet green eyes, dark copper hair, and light bronze skin as a bared footed woman with a similar but less ethereal skin tone and colorful feathers weaved in her hair walk around the base of the Life Giver, trying to return her to full health.
She was tempted to go down and help her but her magic related to the earthy parts of nature, not the plant parts like a dryad would have. If only her dryad cousins were still alive then maybe they could do something. But sadly that could not be because of the wave of fire and death that killed her cousins and all the glorious creatures of old that now only exhausted in silly human stories.
She watched for a little while longer before standing up and allowing herself to disappear back into the safety of the young Evertree.
The flash of light caught Lenori's eyes somewhere at the top of the tree.
She looked up to see no one there.
Strange. She could have swore she saw something. She even felt someone starting at her from above. The very thought of someone just staring at her freaked her out, like a spider; she didn't like spiders.
Myriam nudged her leg, tilting her head when Lenori looked down.
"Yes, I know. There's still a lot of decay to get rid of and the Evertree only has so much time. I just hope those Riders know how to fix this for all our sakes."P.S. Magical creatures and nymphs did exist at one point in the history of Pyrrhia and Pantala before all were wiped when the Wyrm hit the planet. I might talk more about them in the future(possibly the final book: Nemesis).
