Author's POV:
Today is gonna be a great day as Vaishnavi called Manprit. Yes! She called him! From her own! Though he don't know why she called him but he have to give his best impression. He opened his cupboard and bunch of dresses fell on him.
"Eh...?" Was the only thing he could manage to say. He picked them up and looked at them carefully.
"SIS! WHAT YOUR DRESSES ARE DOING IN MY CUPBOARD?!" He shouted as she entered inside the room, with a glass of butter milk.
"Huh?" She said, while sipping it. "Oh.."
He gave her a duh look and said "Only 'Oh..'? I want an appropriate answer!"
"Hmm. Actually *sips* I didn't had any place in the cupboard to keep my new dresses so I put them here." She said.
"Ugh whatever!" He threw her dresses on the bed and started searching a nice outfit for him. He finally came up with a grey T-SHIRT and red hoodie. He looked at the mirror and brushed him hair.
"Do you need any help?" Manpriya asked.
"What help can I get from you?" He rolled my eyes as she fake glared.
"If you want I can share my foundation and lip tint with you." she shrugged as he looked at her like she came from Africa's most abandoned forest.
"Are you serious- well, don't eat my head now! I'm already tensed." he said.
"Sorry I already had my lunch so I'm not interested in eating your useless head" she smiled as he closed the door in her face and went downstairs. Anant gave him a thumbs up as he smiled at him.
·
It's been half an hour and he just reached at the cafe where Vaishnavi called him. He locked his car and went inside. He looked here and there when his sight fell on her, sitting at the 2nd last seat while scrolling in her phone. He waved at her and went there.
"Hi" he smiled and sat in front of her and she sighed.
"You are late...as always." she said as he nervously laughed.
"I'm very sorry. Actually I was helping my sister with some important documents." He lied, trying to be over smart.
"I see. It's okay" she smiled "So-"
"What do you wanna order?" He smiled.
"You can order anything. I just had a cappuccino." she replied.
She already ate before me? Just great!
"It's okay. I'm not that hungry. By the way, why you called me here?" He asked.
"Actually, I got to know that you're the member of our new club for helping the different orphanages." she said shyly.
"Oh yes!" He nodded.
"Yea...and I really found that impressive. So, I was also thinking to join it. Can you help me with it?" She said, holding his hand as his face turned red.
"I-I N-No " he hesitated.
"No? Oh ok..." She said, sadly.
"Hey! I didn't mean that! I mean sure you can join it and I would love it if you do! Don't worry I will support you!" He said, standing up.
She looked surprised by his sudden action and then burst into laughter. "That's cute ~ thank you."
He slowly took his seat and then smiled. There was a complete silence and both of them were avoiding gazes. Manprit looked at her as his eyes met with her's but she quickly looked down.
"Well, so I think there's nothing more-" she said but he cut her off.
"Why don't we go to the park? If you don't mind of course." he suggested as she nodded. They went out of the cafe and went to the park.
·
They were roaming in the park silently and both them wanted to say something but they don't have any topic to talk about.
"So..?" Vaishnavi started.
"Chocolate or Butterscotch?" Manprit asked.
"Well.... Butterscotch." she smiled.
"Cool" he said.
"Yeah..."
*Silence*
"Well Vaishnavi?" Manprit finally sighed and looked at her.
"Yes?"
"I want to say something to you." he said, thinking that if not now then never. How long will he beat around the bush. He can't just behave like a stalker anymore.
"Yes say" she smiled.
"I..."
