All the anticipation leading up to Christmas and it had came and gone. A couple days before the football guys and the rest of us met at the diner to hang out and exchange gifts. It was fun, the team hadn't been together since school let out for break so they were being loud and obnoxious. The team’s tradition is to get everyone the most random gift and the tradition appeared to have continued on with no end in sight. Christmas was fun too, our parents came home the day before to hang out and what not. It was overall a nice day. Our parents surprised us all with plane tickets to up to New York for New Year's Eve, so I was currently packing.
Our family usually spent New Year's Eve in New York. This year we were actually going into Time Square though. Our parents even invited Max and Ava to go with us. They were like the new additions to our family. Everyone was currently downstairs ready to leave, waiting on me.
"Josylne if you don't get down here in 2 seconds we are leaving without you," Miranda yelled.
"You're setting me up to fail, there is no way I could make it down all those stairs in 2 seconds," I commented and head for the stairs suitcase in tow.
Once in the car everyone started chatting about nonsense. New York City wasn't that far from our home town so we didn't have that much time until we arrived at the hotel. My parents, being the way they are, rented two rooms one for the boys and one for the girls. Miranda dropped her stuff and then headed out to eat with Jayden, leaving Ava and I alone.
"So are you gonna kiss Parker tonight at midnight?" Ava asked taking a seat on the bed her and I were going to share.
"I wish but its doubtful. Jayden and Miranda will be with us and I'd rather not welcome the New Year with my household fighting. What's one more New Year’s Eve without a kiss," I sighed. "What about you little miss freshman, are you ready for Max to take your New Year’s Eve kiss virginity?"
Ava playfully pushed me attempting to hide the blush on her face. Luckily for her there was a knock on the door, she ran to get it. Parker and Max waltzed in, and I mean they literally waltzed in.
"So since Jayden and Miranda already ditched us, let's go explore the good old NYC," Max stated pulling Ava up and dragging her out of the room. Parker grabbed my hand and we followed them.
New York was a big city so the chances of running into Jayden and Miranda were slim. Parker and I walked around the city holding hands like a real couple does all the time. After we got something to eat at a little coffee shop we figured we still had time to kill. We didn't plan at being in Time Square until later, plus Jayden had texted Parker that they were there and holding spots. The four of us decided to do the normal touristy thing to do, go on a carriage ride. The plan was to all go one on but Max objected to that swiftly so we took two, them and then us.
Sitting on the carriage ride, under the blanket with Parker was perfect. I looked up at him and smiled to myself. Years of denying feelings and here I was with the boy who "ruined" my life making me the happiest I have ever been.
"God I love you," he murmured into my ear. I smiled and returned the gesture.
The carriage ride was a nice addition to the night. After getting off we reunited with Ava and Max who were equally as content with life. It was beginning to get dark so we decided it was time to head to Time Square. It took about an hour to walk from Central Park to Time Square. Once we were finally there we found Parker and Miranda who were in the middle of the stage and the ball.
"Perfect," I muttered and Miranda smiled knowing she had done a good job of picking out a spot.
At around ten o'clock the show started, by then the area had become packed and the cold air was getting even colder. Max and Ava were between Miranda and I, shielding me somewhat from them. I turned to Parker and he looked down at me. Without saying anything he pulled me closer, instantly making me feel warm. Max looked over and smiled before turning his attention back to the stage to see the next performance. I wasn't even watching the show, I was too concerned about my brother turning this way and seeing us all cuddled up together.
