Vindication. Euphoria. Satisfaction. That's how it felt to see Draco, Pansy, Blaise, Crabbe, and Goyle scrubbing the floor the following evening. Their grouchy, dreadful expressions switched to horrified once the entire crew of Gryffindors and Priscilla rounded the corner. It was gloating time, and it was a beautiful sight indeed.
Hermione was over the moon. She was heartbroken when she found out S.P.E.W. was banned, but that wasn't going to stop her from fighting for house-elf rights in Hogwarts, and hopefully one day around the world. Seeing Draco, the boy who called her "mudblood" for years, scrubbing the floor like this on his knees, made her feel like when she punched him in the face last year. Fucking awesome.
Neville, Harry, Ron, and Ginny were happy too. They wouldn't have to face any more annoying insults from the band of Slytherins, at least for now.
Fred and George felt like they won the lottery. The coup d'état couldn't have worked out better for them; they got their biggest enemies on Filch's bad side on top of being able to steal everything from Filch's office undetected. Most of it was theirs in the first place, true, but there were a few new treasured additions that they hadn't seen before. Needless to say, next year was going to be brilliant.
Priscilla didn't care that she lost her house 50 points. She didn't care the entire school has seen a picture of her and Draco kissing, or that everyone looked at her when she walked through the halls. The American muggle-born that kissed Draco Malfoy at the Yule Ball and was now dating the most popular guy in school. She didn't even care that she would probably never be welcome in the Slytherin commons again, and would have to shoulder the repercussions of the coup d'etat for a while.
But at this moment, almost everything was perfect. There were two people missing from the celebration, Cedric and Nitara. Of course, they had both heard about the humiliation of Draco Malfoy and his friends, but Priscilla couldn't go to the courtyard to tell them all about it like she would've if it weren't for the fight.
"They're both invited later, Cilly," George said as they made their way to the statue of Gregory the Swarmy after lights out, noticing her slight frown.
