Quidditch Tryouts

It has been two weeks since my Dad visited me, and today we have Quidditch tryouts. I'm going for the position of seeker and since I didn't have my own broom I got left with this really old almost broken broom to ride. How am going to get the seeker position with this broom. Leah and Cynthia are also trying out. I hope they make the team. We just practice our flying until the captain Teddy Lupin came out on the field with his co-captain Victoire Weasley.

"Alright everybody gather around. Okay listen up, just because you were on the team last does not guarantee you a spot on the team this year, is that clear." Teddy said.

We all nod our head yes in agreement.

"Alright so I will put you through some drills create four lines. Seekers on my far left, then chasers, beaters, and at my far right keepers."

I looked around and notice that Leah was going out for chaser and Cynthia was going out for keeper and that I had one other person trying out for seeker with me. His name is Albus Potter. He was in the team last year how can I compete with that. But it is possible that Leah, Cynthia and I will be on the same team. I hope so.

The practice went on for about an hour and a half. I think I did pretty good,for having to use a really old broom, but I guess I will find out when Teddy and Victoire post the team later on today. I can't wait to find out.

While I waited for the team to be posted I decided to go to the library and catch up on my studies. I've been so caught up with practice for quidditch tryouts that I fell behind. Shouldn't take me long to catch up though the subjects I'm behind on are easy anyways. Leah and Cynthia decided to join me because they were having a bit of trouble with the essay we had to write for Astronomy. I thought it was easy enough you just had to write about your favourite constellation.

Anyways we finished our homework and headed back to the common room.

"Password?" The portrait of the fat lady said.

"Mandragora" I replied.

She let us in and I noticed a crowd around the bulletin board. The quidditch team must be posted. I was so nervous and excited at the same time. When the crowd died down a bit I looked at the sheet. I had made the Gryffindor Quidditch team and then I noticed that Leah had also got on the team as chaser but I looked for Cynthia's name but hers wasn't there.

"Cynthia, I don't know how to say this but... You didn't make the team." I said

"That's okay, I don't mind watching it's probably better and I could learn from watching you guys play."

"So you'll try out for the team again next year?" Leah asked enthusiastically.

"Yeah, I'll try every year until I make the team, and I know I will." Cynthia replied.

"I love your confidence." I said.

"Thanks. Mom told me to never give up so I guess that's why I have so much confidence about everything."

We all felt tired so we went to bed. I couldn't wait to tell Scorpius and Kim tomorrow.
