Scars | Harry Potter x Reader (taking a pause)

Year 1: Refusal

The next morning you woke up, Harry was still sleeping. You were eating a donut and smiled when he finally woke up.

"Finally you're awake! I for sure thought you were dead!" You said sarcastically which made you both laugh.

"How'd you get the food?" he said voice still tired and breaking.

"It's over there" you said pointing to a cart with a lot of food on it.

"Ohhh" he said standing up but his scar still shot with pain when he would. "This stupid scar" he said falling back on the bed.

"Dang the cart is so far away too. Oh well guess you're just going to have to sit there and starve while I eat my delicious, soft donut." you said taking a bite out of your donut. Then you both laughed and you got up to get him one.

"Hopefully I can walk for this ceremony tonight" Harry told you.

"Yeah that would be a shame if you couldn't especially since it's our first year.".

Just then the doors opened and to your surprise there were about a dozen teachers. One in the front he had a long white beard with half moon glasses and he smiled when he saw that you and Harry had awaken. You also recognized the one teacher from yesterday with the black hair. There were other teachers but when one walked in you and Harry immediately touched your scar for it was burning again but not as bad as it was a few days ago but enough to make you clench your teeth. The man with the white beard saw this and sent the rest of the teachers out and when they did you were fine again.

The man sat down and said "Hello Y/n and Harry! My name is Professor Dumbledore and I am the headmaster here at Hogwarts.".

You and Harry reached out and shook hands with him.

"Do you think I will be able to go to the ceremony tonight?" Harry asked Dumbledore.

"I don't see why not."

"Well it's just since that moment in Diagon Alley, I can't stand and when I do I fall back onto the bed due to my scar burning"

"Oh well just rest today until the ceremony and then we will see how you are." the man softly smiled and left the room.

So Harry put you in misery by falling asleep until an hour before the ceremony. You shook him awake and you already had your robes on.

"I see someone's excited." he said playfully.

You playfully rolled your eyes and said "well try and stand up!".

He took a deep breath and stood up. This time successful.

"Well go get changed!"

He smiled and walked to the bathrooms with his robes.

You and Harry talked the whole time until it was ten minutes before and a teacher which name you learned was Professor McGonagall asked both of you to follow her. Both you and Harry excited, she took you to the front of the castle where the other first years would be walking in.

You and Harry standing there excited but also nervous and hoping we would get in the same house. To pass time you and Harry played rock, paper, scissors which Professor McGonagall who watched you with curiosity.

Finally the first years walked in and you held your breath. They all looked at you and Harry confused on how you were already there but everyone followed Professor McGonagall as you heard small whispers coming from behind you. You and Harry also whispered but everyone stopped once McGonagall stopped to face everyone in front of two large doors.

"You are to stay here I will be right back." McGonagall had stated as she turned around and walked into the hall.

You had started talking to Harry again when you heard someone call out "is it true then? Y/n Y/l/n and Harry Potter have come to Hogwarts?!" you turned to see a boy with bleach blonde hair looking at you and Harry.

He walked in front of you and Harry and stated "the chosen ones huh?" you and Harry looked at each other confused then the boy stated again "if you're so great, why were you screaming and crying like a little baby in Diagon Alley." he told to Harry.

You felt your hand form a fist when McGonagall came up behind him tapping him on the shoulder to go back with the crowd. She motioned for everyone to follow her and you walked through the hall. You and Harry looked up at the ceiling and it was disguised as a starry night. There were also four long tables with many students but the end closest to the front open for the new first years.

You made it to the front when McGonagall had said "I will place the sorting hat on your head and you will be sorted into your house." She began calling names and you heard a rather odd name which was Draco Malfoy and then you saw the bleach blonde haired boy walking to the front. Without the hat even being placed on his head it called out "SLYTHERIN".

Then you heard "Harry Potter" and there were small whispers everywhere. He hesitantly walked up and when he turned around you gave him a smile and a wink making him giggle a little. The hat took a long time to decide, way longer than everyone else and then called out "GRYFFINDOR". You clapped your hands and a little louder than you did for anyone else.

Then you heard "Y/n Y/l/n". You walked up and when you sat down Harry did the same thing you did for him which was a wink and smile. People also whispered when they heard your name and the hat took a very long time to decide when finally yelling "SLYTHERIN". You nearly choked on your saliva when it said that. You gave Harry a sad look as he was your only friend. Malfoy also did not look happy to be in the same house as you. But then you walked over to the Gryffindor table without a care in the world.

"Y/n? You are in Slytherin." McGonagall said.

You looked at her and acted like she said nothing and continued to sit down next to Harry. Everyone was in silence with your action then you saw Dumbledores lips that whispered "just like her father".

"Y/n what are you doing?!" Harry asked full of terror that you would even consider doing something like that.

"I'm mad I am going to be without you so I will be with you as long as I can and also maybe that'll convince them to put me in Gryffindor."

McGonagall ignored it until the sorting part was over and then Snape who you found out was the head of Slytherin. He walked over to you.

"Very brave of you to not choose to listen to the teachers Y/l/n but now you need to head to the Slytherin table.".

"I want to stay with the Gryffindor though sir.".

He raised an eyebrow surprised by your response and Harry having a terrified face plastered on him along with a boy you had met named Ron.

"Can I please be in Gryffindor sir or at least stay here for the feast. I only have friends in Gryffindor and everyone in Slytherin already practically hates me." you said looking at the Slytherin table as everyone was snickering at you.

"The sorting hat placed you in Slytherin Y/l/n. I cannot change your fate so if I were you I would start heading over to the Slytherin right now." he said with a stern voice.

"No"

He grew an angry face and Harry, Ron and the entire hall was silent.

"Just like your father." he said with disgust.

It actually made you smile that you were representing your father but in the tone that he said it made you angry "never speak of my father in that tone of voice again".

"Detention for a month Ms. Y/l/n" he said walking away as he turned around gave him a mocking face and turned back to Harry and Ron proud of yourself and realized the entire hall was listening.

"Y/n!" Harry yelled at you.

"What" you said smirking.

"Do you realize what you just did?!"

"Yeah I shut up that ugly swine."

The Slytherin table now laughing so hard at you but you couldn't tell if it was at you or with you.

"That was bloody brilliant Y/n!" Fred and George said to you who were Ron's older twin brothers.

You gave them a smile still proud of yourself and continued eating along with everyone else.
