Scars | Harry Potter x Reader (taking a pause)

Year 2: Long Summer

A/n: ok so I know there are major time skips happening but as I said that won't happen as much after this year

Ever since the incident with the chamber of secrets, everything has been pretty much normal.

But then it was two days before you had to go back to the Orphanage. You had a panic attack but you ran the bathroom so no one saw. You just hoped that no one would walk in. You were not ready to go back. The bathroom had been flooded by Myrtle before since someone was making fun of her. You sat down in the gross cold water terrified. This happened both days and to your luck no one came in.

People often wondered but didn't dare to ask why you came out of the bathroom soaking wet with puffy eyes the past two days. You then walked into the Gryffindor common room forgetting the way you looked and all eyes were on you.

Harry got up from the couch quickly and took you outside of the common room.

"Y/n are you alright?!" Harry asked worried.

"Yeah I'm fine why do you ask?" you said with a high pitched voice and tears in your eyes as you hadn't fully recovered.

"You are not alright! I know because I'm your best friend so don't make excuses."

You didn't want to tell him because you didn't want to sound weak to him and him to feel bad for you.

"It's ok you can tell me" he said in a soothing voice.

Tears were now running down your face like there was no tomorrow. You tried to hold them back as you said to Harry "I- I-" when someone cut you off.

"Awww is your girlfriend crying to you Potter?" a voice you recognized as Malfoy's had spoke while laughing.

Harry got mad and walked up to Malfoy saying "you did it didn't you!?".

"Did what? I was just taking a walk around the castle when I saw Y/n crying."

"I know you're lyi-"

You cut Harry off and said "no it doesn't have anything to do with him so let's go.".

Draco had started laughing at Harry again in his victory and Harry just gave him a dirty look as you both walked away.

He took you to an empty hallway and said "ok now we are alone so you can tell me".

"I I I can't" you said with more tears forming in your eyes at the thought of going back to the orphanage.

"You know the secrets safe with me" he said.

"It's not that" you started saying "I just can't" you finally said when you fell into Harry's arms and completely broke down. 

Harry held you tight in a hug comforting you as he still didn't know the reason. Your clothes were still soaking wet which made you cold but Harry's hug made you feel warm. You didn't know how long you were there crying with Harry holding you tight but it felt like forever and you never wanted to let go.

You finally stopped crying and Harry had given up on trying to ask why you were crying.

"I'm sorry I hate being emotional in front of people." you said wiping away the tears.

"I know I do too but you know I won't judge you.".

"I guess I'll tell you this, I hate the orphanage and last summer was a train wreck."

"I bet it can't be worse than the Dursley's."

'Oh I'm sure it can' you said in your head.
