Southern Rhapsody

Chapter 1

The kids woke up feeling really psyched.

"Today's the day! It's finally here!" squealed Charles Wallace.

"What day, Charlsie?" said John.

"The day the Wiggles take us to the South." said Charles Wallace.

"I am SO excited." Meg said.

"Me too" said Calvin.

"Me three" Sam said.

"Me four. So let's go" said Charles Wallace.

"But, first, come eat breakfast. You can't go out with the Wiggles on an empty stomach" said Ringo.

"That's what Anthony says too" said Meg.

"And he's exactly right. So you can go as soon as you've finished" said George.

"All done" the kids said in unison. 

They had eaten their breakfast pretty fast. They were so excited.

"Oh, those kids." Paul giggled.

When the kids got outside, the Wiggles were there to come get them.

"Hello, kids" said Murray.

"You ready for the big trip?" said Anthony.

"You betcha!" Sam said.

"Jess! You're here too?" Meg said.

"Yeah. I have a week off of school so my Uncle Murray said I could come on this trip with you" said Murray's niece, Jess.

"Oh, yeah? We're glad to have you" said Charles Wallace.

"Come on, kids. It's off to the Big Red Car" said Jeff.

When they got to the South, it was so beautiful there. 

They stopped at a cabin in the woods. Two little kids were playing in that area.

"Look!" said the girl.

"What is it?" said the boy.

"The Wiggles are here! They sure are." said the girl.

"Oh boy. Let's go talk to them!" said the boy.

The two kids hurried toward the Wiggles and the kids.

"Hi, Wiggles!" they said in unison.

"Hello there" said Anthony.

"Are these your friends?" said the boy.

"We sure are. I'm Meg. This is Sam, Calvin and my brother, Charles Wallace" said Meg.

"I'm Ginny. He's Johnny" said the girl.

"And who's this?" said Johnny.

"I'm Jessica. I'm Murray's niece" said Jess.

"Oh, hi, Murray's niece! We've never met a Wiggle's family member" said Ginny.

"We have to take you all to Uncle Remus. He'll want to meet you" said Johnny.

"What's goin on?" said another boy running over.

"Toby! The Wiggles are here! And they brought some friends" said Johnny.

"Why, it iz de Wiggles! It show iz!" said Toby, the other boy. He had a very heavy Southern accent.

"Come on, guys" said Ginny.

Ginny, Johnny and Toby led the kids inside the cabin where an old man was getting dinner started.

"Uncle Remus! We've got company" said Johnny.

Uncle Remus looked at the kids and said "Well, bless my soul. What's a fine bunch o' kids like you doin in de South?"

"They're here with the Wiggles" said Ginny.

"De Wiggles! Well, how bout dat"

"We're gonna be here a while, sir" said Greg.

"Dat's good. We don' get many guests here in de South" said Uncle Remus.

"Where are we gonna stay?" Sam asked.

"Follow me" said Johnny.

Johnny led the Wiggles and the kids to the woods in which a bunch of animals were having fun playing.

"You can stay out here with the critters. They'll be glad to have you" said Johnny.

"Thanks, Johnny" said Murray.

Well, that was fun, wasn't it?

They're off to a good start, eh?
