Chapter 3

Brer Bear created his short film about getting gum out of your hair.

And little did he know, Calvin was playing his guitar and singing in the background.

Later, he showed the video to Brer Rabbit and the Wiggles.

"Whaddaya think?" said Brer Bear.

"I think the fact that you're wearing a weird tiny hat tells me you never got the gum out" said Greg.

"It's a fashion statement" said Brer Bear.

"An' dat statement iz "I now has a bald spot"" said Brer Rabbit.

"Hey. You try cuttin your own fur wit' hedge trimmers" said Brer Bear.

"Well, good on ya, Brer Bear. Your short film is more popular than the one where Mickey Mouse cleans a clock" said Murray.

"My dream of becomin an animal fur model's comin true. I's gonna take over de hair world like lice" said Brer Bear.

"Lemme see dat" said Brer Rabbit.

Brer Rabbit read the reviews for the short film and said "Brer Bear. Did you actually read de reviews? Dey's all about Calvin".

"Wow!" the Wiggles said one at a time.

"I'm surprised the camera caught him in the background" said Anthony.

"Dere's even a bunch o' reviews askin where dey can find mo' o' his music" said Brer Rabbit.

"I wonder if Cal knows about this" said Jeff.

"I heard my name" said Calvin.

"Look, Cal. You's on Brer Bear's short film. And de critics love ya" said Brer Rabbit.

"Really? Awesome!" said Calvin.

"Dere's gotta be some reviews about me" said Brer Bear.

He looked and said to Brer Rabbit "Read dat one. It's from my grandma in Mexico"

"Brer Bear, stop yappin about hair and let el guapo sing" Brer Rabbit read resulting in laughter from the others.

Meanwhile, the other kids were hanging out near the Slippin Falls.

"Isn't the South awesome?" Meg said.

"Sure is" said Charles Wallace.

"Sam?" said Jess.

"Yeah?"

"My uncle loves you. Could you tell me your feelings toward him honestly?" said Jess.

"Well, I love him too. It took longer than he thought for me to find that out but I love him" Sam answered.

"Good. Because I figured I'd admit this to you because you'd understand" said Jess.

"What's that?"

"Okay... ready?"

"Mmm-hmm"

"I like Calvin"

"You do?"

"Yeah"

"Cool. You know, he and I dated for a while. Then he told me to split up so I could be with your uncle." Sam said.

"Oh, that's nice of him. I mean, it's sad that you split up but it was good news for Uncle Murray" said Jess.

"So, if you like Calvin, you like Calvin. He probably likes you too" Sam said.

"Maybe. He invited me to hang out in five minutes" said Jess.

"Cool" Sam said.

Little did they know, Brer Fox was lurking in the corner.

"So... de gal like de boy and her uncle's one o' de Wiggles. Dat give me an idea. I'll get Brer Rabbit... and de Wiggles" he laughed slyly.

Oh boy! What's Brer Fox planning to do?
