Chapter 8

"Great, Calvin. Now let's go make dat video" said Brer Rabbit.

"Brer Rabbit! Your stupid plan didn't work! She's madder than ever at me now" said Calvin.

"Uncle Murray! This rabbit is crackers! He locked me in here and I almost just wore rat mittens!" Jess yelled.

"Jessie, there's no need to shout" said Murray.

"Really? Do you know what it's like to love someone who doesn't love you back?" said Jess on the edge of tears.

"More than you think" said Murray.

"I guess. But what if Calvin hates me?" said Jess.

"He doesn't hate you, darling" said Murray.

Murray led Jess out of the meat locker.

"Cal. Forget Jess. Concentrate on making yo' music video." said Brer Rabbit.

"No! I don't care about that video! My whole relationship is blown up!" shouted Calvin running out of the locker.

It was then that Brer Rabbit realized he'd really messed up.

"Dis is horrible" he said.

"Yeah. We trapped em in a room wit' burgers dat was rejected by a local kennel" said Brer Bear.

"De box says dat dey's from a local kennel." Brer Rabbit corrected him.

Later, Brer Fox approached Jess and snatched her up. 

He took her to Chick-a-Pin Hill where he lived.

"Afternoon, Jess" said Brer Fox.

"Who are you?" said Jess.

"Brer Fox. I couldn't help but notice you's in love." said Brer Fox.

"I am. And for some reason, he can't say anything back" said Jess.

"I gets it. I wants you to help me. Ya see, Brer Rabbit nevah stops playin tricks on me. I's tryin to catch him. If you could help me out..." said Brer Fox.

"Wait. I'm told you're not the nicest animal. You want me to help. Does this have anything to do with the Wiggles?" said Jess.

"Why? Cause you's Murray's niece? O' course it does. De Wiggles is my other target. Just try to lure dem ter my lair" said Brer Fox.

"Okay... but you must promise NOT to harm my Uncle Murray." said Jess.

"I promises I won't harm any o' de Wiggles. But you does dis wit me, I helps you get dat boy" said Brer Fox.

"Very well" said Jess. 

I think we know what Brer Fox is doing now.

And I know the announcement said he'd capture Meg, but I thought Jess was a little easier.
