Chapter 9

Kim "Ethan" Yong-saeng

I open my eyes and look around.

It's Andrés' bedroom.

The good thing was that I wasn't at the pack hospital; the bad news was that I was at Andrés' house. Not sure how I should react to being here.

In the end, I still fainted at the ceremony.

I can see Andrés talking to a doctor in the corner of my eyes. They tried their best to whisper, but I used my werewolf hearing to listen to their conversation.

"Your mate needs to rest," whispers the doctor.

I guess that the doctor already told Andrés that I'm his mate. Just great!

The scenario slowly changed from what happened the first time. If I slowly change things, then I can survive to live another day.

"Water," I said as I tried to get out of the bed to find water.

I see Andrés quickly grab a glass of water. Then, he hands me the glass while the doctor leaves the room.

"Here," Andrés said as he sat in a chair next to the bedside.

"Thank you," I replied quickly.

The awkwardness in the room was eating me alive.

Looking back, Andrés and I never really had time to talk with each other. Andrés would mostly party, and I would make sure the pack was running smoothly with abuji's help, of course. So Andrés did his thing, and I did my thing; we never really interfered with each other.

"You had me worry for a second," said Andrés with a worried look.

"I was beginning to think my kiss was so good that I made you faint," said Andrés jokingly.

I blinked a couple of times because I wasn't sure how to respond. Andrés must have noticed this because he grabbed one of my hands and tried to get me to focus on him.

"I don't know how to say this, so I'm just going to say it. We are mates," said Andrés. Then, he held his breath to wait for my response.

"I know," I said.

"You know?" He asked me.

"I wouldn't have kissed you if I didn't know you were my mate," I said to Andrés confidently as I looked straight into his eyes.

The conversation was cut short because Andrés ran his hand up my shoulder. Then, he reached for my neck and kissed me on the lips again.

My wolf would not stop shouting 'kiss him' in my head, so I deepened the kiss until we heard someone knock at the door.

We end up quickly pulling away from each other.

"Come in," Andrés said after he took a second to recompose himself.

Mia and Rose walked into the room to check up on me. They quickly moved over to the bed that I was lying in.

"Ethan, are you okay?" Asked Mia with worry.

"Your face is bright red!" Added Rose as she touched my face.

Some things always stay the same, even if the situation is different. Mia and Rose would still come to check up on me. Deep down, it makes me smile just a little.

"Alpha Andrés, someone is at the door for you," said Rose.

"Okay, I'll be right back," said Andrés as he squeezed my hand before he left.

I can hear Mia squeal with excitement, to my dismay.

I end up rolling my eyes at her several squeaks. Many questions soon followed.

"He touched your hand," Rose squeaks again as she sits down where Andrés once was.

"I can't believe Alpha Andrés kisses you in front of everyone. Everyone's mouth drops to the ground," said Mia with excitement.

"Are you guys together now?" Ask Mia to me.

"When is the wedding? Should I wear blue or red as the best woman?" Ask Mia without letting me answer the first question because she was busy asking another and another.

"Did you hear the woman downstairs she is-," said Mia as she moved her hands to show that her stomach was bigger, which means that the woman downstairs was pregnant.

Rose ends up elbowing Mia in the ribs to get Mia to shut up, but it is too late.

"She is here," I said without thinking.

Andrés' future finance is here already!

I thought I had changed the situation but still didn't fix the fiance issue. Can't I get a break?

I take out the IV and tiptoe to the bedroom door, hoping to hear something. I try my best not to make any noise.

"I need to tell you something," said the woman as she moved closer to Andrés.

My wolf was becoming jealous by the second.

I tried to calm my wolf down, but he was not listening to me at all. "No one should touch Andrés but me," he screams in my head angrily.

Mia and Rose make it to the bottom of the stairs. I soon follow them to see what is happening.

"We should've brought popcorn. Things are getting spicy," Mia whispered to Rose.

"You need to leave," said Andrés sternly, trying to guide the pregnant woman out of the house, but she wouldn't leave.

"Do I need to bring someone to make you leave my house?" Asked Andrés as he dialed a number on his phone. Probably the security team to come to get her.

"Mariana, send me," said the former fiance.

Andrés stops moving his fingers on his phone. He ends up sighing and puts his phone away. Then, he turns around toward the staircase.

"I can hear you guys. You can come out now," said Andrés.

Rose, Mia, and I slowly came down. Then, we all waved to the pregnant lady.

"We were just leaving. Don't mind us," said Rose as she and Mia moved closer to the front door. I decided to follow them.

"Wait, please stay," said Andrés as he grabbed my arm.
