Alpha Andrés Oliva

I didn't know what was going on, but something felt off. Something is wrong with Ethan's wolf. I could hear a sharp scream in the crowd as Beta Ethan fell to the ground with a loud thump.

I rushed over to Beta Ethan to see what was happening. I can feel pain and confusion coming from Ethan while I carry Ethan to the pack doctor. What in the hell was happening?

"Doctor, I need your help now!" I shout for the doctor at the front door as I enter the building. Dr. Charles hears me and runs toward the waiting area.

"What's wrong with head Beta Ethan?" Ask Dr. Charles as he opens Ethan's closed eyes and shines a light on them. I still have Ethan in my arms.

"I don't know. We were at the ceremony, and he fainted before me. I can feel that he is in a lot of pain," I tell Dr. Charles with worry.

"Okay, we'll need to run some tests to see what could be causing the pain," said Dr. Charles. Then, some nurses come with a bed and take Ethan away. I try to follow them as they quickly move to the back.

"Alpha Andrés, you will have to wait here," said a nurse pointing to a couple of chairs in the waiting area.

"No," I shout at the top of my lungs.

"You don't understand; I have to be there. He's in so much pain," I pleaded with the doctor.

"You may be the Alpha here, but this is a hospital," said Clara as she looked me straight in the eyes. So, naturally, I stare back at her.

"You either sit down and be civil, or I will kick you out myself," Clara told me with her hands on her hips.

I decided it was best to go over to the chairs and sit down to wait.

After my mother passed away, I insisted on adding better and more advanced medical equipment to the pack's medical inventory just in case of an emergency. Ethan thought it was a silly idea since we are all werewolves and rarely get sick, but I insisted on the medical equipment.

I try to look at my phone to help my mind to wonder about other things. But instead, I noticed a lot of missed calls and several texts from past hookups. So, I decided to ignore all those texts and just called Ethan's father, former head Beta Jung-hoon.

"Sir, Ethan is getting some tests done right now. Please check on the guest and ensure the other pack members are well accommodated?" I ask former head Beta.

"Sure, Alpha Andrés," responds the former head Beta and hangs up the call.

I wait a few more minutes and pace around the waiting area. I tried to go back and forth, hoping that pacing would pass the time quicker. Also, it helps me from stressed out more.

"Are you waiting for your boyfriend?" Ask a nurse I didn't recognize. She must be new. Another nurse quickly moves the new nurse away from the front desk.

"He isn't my boyfr--," I started to explain, but Dr. Charles cut me off.

"Alpha Andrés, please come with me," said the doctor, so I followed him down the hall into his office.

"Please take a seat," said Dr. Charles as he closed the door behind him. Then, he sits in his chair and looks at his tablet. I go sit in one of the chairs across from him.

"What is wrong with head Beta Ethan?" I ask with a worried tone. My hands couldn't stop shaking, so I put them on my lap, hoping no one would notice.

This brought back memories of the day when I received bad news about my mom. I was starting to panic.

"The cause of sudden collapse that head Beta Ethan had was caused by a sudden rejection of the mark," said Dr. Charles in a calming tone.

"What--but--," was all I could muster up. My brain was having a hard time processing the information given. I had never heard about a beta rejecting a ceremony oath mark.

"But, I felt pain when head Beta fell to the ground. So, if the mark wasn't working, how can I feel Ethan's pain?" I ask in a confused tone.

"Well... looks like the oath mark turned into a mating bond. The head Beta is your mate," said Dr. Charles as he tapped away on the tablet.

Ethan is my mate.

The hell!
