"I knew the moment when I met you that I will never be the same again."

KIARA SIGHED AS she entered the workshop - a two-storey building in the middle of a forest - Kiara didn't remember the name of it. The enchanting smell of forest surrounding them - the fresh scent of rain and mud around them. She could hear the birds chirping and the warm sensation of sunlight against her skin.
She could stay here forever, yet she has to leave within a few hours. She had called an emergency board meeting to deal with Damien.
That asshole.
Imagine the shock Kiara received when one day she woke up to an email on her phone and twenty missed calls. It turned out that Damien's company bought some of the shares of her cosmetic company - Red Roses. Not only that, the bastard bought enough shares to be the member of the board, much to her dismay. Then started his irritating calls and demands - wanting to be involved in board meetings and even hunt for the perfect scent with Kiara.
As soon as she had heard the news, she had hired a private investigator since she couldn't risk her own men digging dirt on Damien. She wanted something against the idiot so she could blackmail him to sell back the shares to her.
Everything was chaotic. She knew that Damien won't be silent for long. And now he was barging into her business, making his presence firmer in her life. Gosh, she hated him now more than ever. Can't he just get it that she is taken?
She was sure enough that she has to get married soon so she could get him off her back. He wouldn't chase a married woman, right? He shouldn't do that to an engaged one too so she had her doubts.
She just wanted him gone.
She enters the building, the familiar scent of magnolia welcoming her. She hears the man before she sees him.
Her favourite supplier, her father's most trusted friend and advisor as well as her inspiration growing up stands in front of her with a warm smile on his face. A grin forms on her face quickly and she felt excited to be in his presence.
Ram Iyengar aka baba as she calls him, opens his arms for her and she grabs him in a tight hug. The man pats her on the back and laughs. His laugh reminds her of the times she would run through the fields of flowers at the back of his house and get a scolding from him for spoiling his fields.
This place was a secret hideout of her father's and baba stayed here all his life since he chose to stay away from the exploits of the world he left behind. Baba simply hated city life and enjoyed the peaceful offerings of nature. He settled here with his loving wife, Anamika or Ma as Kiara called her since, after the death of her own mother, Anamika was the mother figure in her life as she grew up.
They had five children together, the eldest being Aman, the same person who works with her and the youngest being the fifteen-year-old troublemaker Yash who was completing his studies at a boarding school in Delhi. In between came the triplets, the fashion prodigies - Sanya, Manya and Inaaya. They were top models in America, signed under Kiara's fashion company - Golden Roses.
Kiara's company were named after roses - something she loved and so did her parents. Her father used to gift bouquets of roses to her mother every week since he claimed that roses symbolize pure love and belong with the woman that claimed one's heart.
Kapoor's Music was an exception though since they couldn't go through completely with the name changing since her mother died before she could do the same. Kiara just had to decide on what she would name it after but didn't have the time to ponder on it.
She had left it to Sejal who clearly didn't give much thought to it.
"And here comes my favourite girl in the world. I missed you, sugar." Baba says and Kiara chuckles at the nickname.
She still remembered why she was nicknamed sugar by him - as a child Kiara had an obsession with anything sweet and would even skip dinner just so she could have a place in her stomach for the delicious cakes her mother used to bake.
Gosh, she missed those times.
"I missed you too, baba. How are you? And where is Ma?" Kiara asks, the quietness of the house challenging.
"She is making your favourite chicken biryani. Come let me take you to the kitchen. You know how she gets when she is cooking." baba tells her and she smiles, following him.
Even though the man was sixty, he was the most active person Kiara knew of. His silver hair betrayed the youthful spirit he possessed, jumping in to assist in different works and always having that handsome smile on his face.
Living away from the pollution in the city had done him good for sure.
Kiara follows him to the kitchen, passing by the various rooms. Aman will be coming in any time now, he had been busy unloading all her belongings from the plane and going through the details of the meeting since in no way they were going to meet Damien here. The entire knowledge of this place is kept in dark for a reason. The island was bought by the Kapoors long time ago, and this place is there home.
No one knows the secret about the island and it must stay like that.
The delicious aroma of biryani greets Kiara and her stomach growls in hunger. She could taste the food by its smell. Gosh, she can't wait for lunch!
Chicken biryani was her comfort food. Not even ice cream can give her the comfort that is provided by chicken biryani. And Ma cooks the best biryani in the freaking world. All her ingredients are fresh - mostly grown in the garden behind the house.
"Looks like someone's hungry. Also, where is Aman? Does he not care about his old parents anymore?" baba says as they approach the kitchen.
"First off, baba you are nowhere near old. You never will be. And about Aman, he might be coming any moment now. I am sure he is checking in with Simran. He is 23, but boy, does he follow that girl like a lost puppy." she replies, chuckling in the end.
"That's what love does to you, sugar," he says.
"I know, baba. I know." she smiles as the thought of Zain resurfaces and his enchanting smile appears. She missed him a lot. If it was for her, she would go meet him right now.
"Who is this lucky man who dares to steale my sugar's heart?" Kiara hears a female voice greet her as she steps into the kitchen.
"Ma!" she exclaims as she grabs the woman in a tight hug.
"My little sugar. You look beautiful." Ma comments, making Kiara laugh.
Judging on the fact that Kiara didn't get any sleep last night, there was no way she was looking presentable let alone beautiful. But then in their eyes, Kiara will always be there beautiful little sugar.
"Now, tell me all about this guy!" Ma declares, an eager smile forming on her face.
"Yes, I will. Over lunch. And baba, I need those perfumes - I hope you have what I want because I need something to blow off the market." she tells baba.
"Of course I do, sugar. Now go get freshened up - lunch is going to be served soon enough." baba replies.
"Your clothes are on the bed! And take off your shoes in the house, Kiara, I don't want that dirt on the carpets!" Kiara hears as she makes way to her room.
Home sweet home.
