Zain
"I am yours and you are mine."

ZAIN FROWNED AS he read the message on his phone, again. He didn't like the sound of it, at all and by how the things were turning up for him and Kiara recently, he was sure that something was up.
Unknown:
hey, Zain. Nikita this side. I am hoping to meet you. Care for a coffee with me?
As he said, he didn't like the vibes of it. First off, Damien was onto Kiara by interfering in her business and now, Nikita was demanding to meet him.
And the box of his favourite chocolates that laid in front of them didn't help ease his discomfort. He knew that Nikita was behind the sudden appearance of this box at his office, and she had even asked for an appointment with him which he had refused since he had grown a tinge of hate for her after the charity event. How she had even tried to insult Kiara, simply infuriated him.
He knew that she was acting jealous, Zain was very much acquainted with that side of hers. After all, he had dated her before. But now, it just seemed wrong.
He respected her as a friend but his feelings for her had died down - if they were even there. That was why he didn't hesitate to break up with her when Kiara had told him to. In front of Kiara, she meant nothing to him.
But now, she had made her presence in his life more known. And he could wait for her to disappear, again. This was simply over complicating things for both of them. Nikita was holding onto the past and he wanted a future with Kiara, not her.
Past is past.
So, he typed his reply without any second thoughts.
I can't. I am sorry Nikita, but I am busy and moreover, I am no mood to meet you. Just leave me alone.
He sent it instantly, drifting his attention back to his work. A stack of files awaited for him on his desk and he wondered how Kiara handled all of this. She had informed him that she would be somewhat out of reach for a few hours and that if she doesn't pick up then Zain doesn't need to worry about her.
She had even briefed him about everything he had to do today and Zain had set to work instantly. He had got the hang of the work and he wished that one day, Kiara would let him help her with it. She had immense pressure on her shoulder and he wished to share it with her.
Soon enough, Zain was drowned in his work - reading the files and then signing them if he deemed them right. He was cautious about everything - Kiara had put her trust on him and he wasn't going to let her down, ever.
But his concentration is broken when he hears some commotion outside, a familiar voice of a female interrupting his thoughts and he wished it is not who he thinks it is.
His wishes are shoved down the drain when the door to his office suddenly opens, his irritation on the extreme high due to the intrusion.
In walks the woman he had been avoiding all this time - Nikita.
Now, what does she want from him right now?
"Zain!" she exclaims as she runs towards him, with a grin on her face.
He could seriously punch her right now because that smile bought nothing but anger to him as it reminded him of what she had said to Kiara during the charity event. Nobody and he means nobody mocks Kiara and gets away with it.
She is wearing a blue tight dress, which barely holds onto her figure and Zain is pretty sure that he had never seen Nikita dress slutty. Was she that desperate for him?
He scoffed, she had seriously changed for the worse and now, he wanted absolutely nothing to do with her.
"Sorry, sir! We tried to stop her but she was quite ..... violent." Robert says in a rush as he comes in after her.
That just irks him more. Did she dare to step into his company and harass his employees? Now she is in deep trouble.
"Leave us alone, Robert," he tells his manager who simply nods and exits, closing the door behind him.
"Oh, Zain! I am so glad to see you! I miss you so much!" Nikita says as she steps closer to him, her hands resting on his shoulders.
Her touch irked Zain the wrong way and he let his anger finally take control of him. He gets up, grabbing her hands and then pinning her to the wall.
His eyes were dark with anger and his face looked dangerous. Nikita's eyes widened at his action and she couldn't be more afraid of Zain. She had never seen this side of him and that surprised her - she was losing the man she loves to that bitch every passing day. That can't happen, Nikita never fails.
But Zain couldn't care less. Somehow, he liked the face of fear Nikita had on and he wanted to use it to make his message loud and clear.
"Now, listen to me. I respected you and I know our breakup was abrupt but we are no longer together. We never will be, because I love Kiara and I am going to marry her. If you ever, and I mean it, ever, tried to show up at my office again to trouble me, I will personally make sure to get a restraining order for you. Got it?" he says, coldness laced in his voice.
But Nikita wasn't backing down that easily.
"Why are you being like this, Zain? You love me, not her. That psychotic bitch has implanted some delusional thoughts inside your brain. Zain, she is bad news. And moreover, she will never be me. Remember how we used to make plans for the future? We are meant to be together, Zain." she says.
And those words were enough to send Zain on the edge. How dare she insult Kiara in front of him?
He held her hands tighter, his nails digging into her skin. He wasn't the good boy the world had wanted him to be because when it came to Kiara, he would be bad - so bad that the world will not even think once of hurting her. If protecting her meant changing, he would do it in a heartbeat.
"Zain, you are hurting me!" Nikita cries out, tears rolling down her eyes.
"Don't. Ever. Insult. Kiara. I swear if I hear you bad mouth her one more time, I would personally cut your tongue off, understood? I don't care that Damien is supporting you, I am not scared of him even a bit. Nikita, don't be this woman - the one who tries to seduce other woman's fiancee. It doesn't suit you. You know you are better. But if you still don't want to change, I am telling you again and again - this won't work on me. My heart is taken and it can never be yours. Now get out or I would call the security." Zain warns her one last time before letting go of her and taking a seat.
He grabs his file, his attention getting back to them and he doesn't even acknowledge Nikita's presence.
He hears as she slams her heels on the floor and then rushes out of the office.
He smirks.
Good redundance.
