"There are many types of harassment." The video explains. I roll my eyes. Everyone sits back in their chairs with their arms crossed and blank stares. I glance over at Will. He fills out paper work for this training. My eyes then meet Maryanne's. Her eyes dance with amusement. I look back at the screen. This rally sucks. I really want to check my phone, but can't. My leg bounces. I can't believe I stood up for myself to Edward. Not fully like I should have, but I am free now. I love him so of course I am still upset. We've been together for like four years. That's a lot of time to me.
"Pst." My eyes move up to Will. He frowns slightly before mouthing 'are you okay'. I nod. I feel his foot bump one of mine. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. His eyes twinkle with concern but I dodge them and look back at the video. I don't want to keep staring at him. He makes me feel so much better but Maryanne is here. i don't need her to get any funny ideas. Will traps one of my feet between his. It's the little things. My stomach flutter.
I did end up calling Jane last night because I was a complete mess. As much as she hates Edward and has been waiting for tis moment, she was very supportive. She let me cry, ramble, regret, and fall asleep with her over the phone. She sat there and was there for me. She is really the best friend. It didnt help knowing I had people here for me.
"Okay." William announces. " Instead of taking separate quizzes for this, lets take a group quiz. Before you get signed off." He gets up and walks to the front of the room. He begins asking simple questions about harassment. He throws some scenarios out at us.
"What would playing footsies fall under, Mr. Schall?" Maryanne asks. I feel my blood drain from my face. He freezes for a moment.
"What would consistently taunting and bothering someone about their personal life fall under?" He counters making her frown.
"Bullying and harassments." someone pipes up. Did he really just stick up for me? This means he knows she's been bothering me a lot.
Will finds me in my office after the training. I knew it was lunch time by the grumbles from my stomach. I get up grabbing my purse. His eyes are intense as they burn into mine.
"T-Thank you." I say, walking closer to him.
"For what, Princess?" he asks.
"What you said to Maryanne." I respond. He shakes his head. "I know you know a lot."
"There is no reason to thank me." He replies. "It's disgusting that she is even taunting you about it." I shrug. "I never wanted to remind you of the pain, I wanted you to tell me on your own when you were ready to talk about it."
"It's just" I trail off, my eyes burning. He pulls m into a hug. I burry my face into his chest. My body explodes in butterflies from the wanted contact. He runs his hand through my hair.
"I'm sorry you're going through a tough time, Sweetheart." He mumbles.
"It's life." I state. My stomach growls again. He chuckles. He still hugs me.
"We should see if Jane can join us for lunch." He suggests. She is probably down for anything with Will.
"Stop trying to steal my bestfriend." I tease. He lets me go.
"It's not her I'm trying to steal." He says. My eyes widen. His eyes look at my lips his lips parting as if he were to speak. After he hesitates I tilt my head.
"What?" I ask.
"Let's call Jane." He says.
We meet Jane at the deli. She gives me the longest hug before we sit. The talking is minimal as w demolish our sandwiches. This was a great idea. These two make me feel a lot better.
