Chapter 5

Clay raced his horse. His grey hoodie had a tear and a blood stain on the left arm from a raid but he still went on.

"Come'n, come'n! I gotta get there-," he whispered to himself. He looked up and saw the moon starting to set.

"DANG IT! SHE HAD BETTER STILL BE WAITING!" Clay yelled, frustrated at the pillage attack that kept him from getting to Y/N sooner.

The small village soon appeared into Clays sight.

"Come'n Eclipse. A little faster-," he and Eclipse went as fast as they could. They arrived in the quiet, still town.

"The villagers should be awake by now-," Clay thought out loud, hopping off Eclipse and tying her to the horse pen. He ran inside to find the house abandoned.

"Y/N?" Clay shouted. "ARE YOU HERE?" He expected to hear her call back but was returned with silence. He ran up the creaky stairs. The whole place was covered in dust. Clay coughed, waving the air in attempt to clear the flying dust. He quickly looked around the bedroom, spotting Y/N's diary. He ran up and opened it.

Dear Diary,
Today marks one month without Clay.

Clay read the pages. He gasped when he found out what had happened to the village.

"Crap. Y/N...," he whispered.

He finally reached the last page and was hit with a wave of regret and sadness.

He is dead to me.

Clays eye's pricked up with tears.

"Crap...I'm so sorry, Y/N...."

He gently put the diary down and sullenly walked outside. He gave Eclipse a pat on the nose and headed towards the graveyard to pay his respects.

Right before he left to try and catch up to Y/N, he whispered a soft, tear drowned, "I'm sorry," and left with Eclipse in attempts to find Y/N.

Y/N trotted at an even pace through the birch woodland. It was peaceful. She liked it.

"How about we take a rest, girl?" Y/N said, hopping off of Sushi. Sushi lay down underneath the shade of a birch tree while Y/N explored, killing the occasional creeper. She heard a small bark and looked in the direction of the bark. She heard it again in the direction of a bush. She slowly approached the bush and pushed back the branches, revealing a baby wolf barking at what must've been its mother. The mother looked like it had been attacked and had already died.

"Oh you poor thing-...," Y/N whispered, slowly approaching the pup. The pup looked at her and stood back before growling at her.

"Hey, hey, hey! It's okay!" Y/N quietly assured the small wolf. She pulled out a piece of raw meat she had and held it out to the pup. "Here you go. You want this?"

The baby wolf slowly and carefully approached Y/N, taking a small bite of the meat in her hands. Y/N set the meat on the ground for the wolf to eat and petted it. Upon further inspection, Y/N had discovered the small wolf had not had anything to eat for a while. It was also a female. Her fur was a beautiful magenta-ish color as well.

"You're really cute ya'know? I think I wanna keep you. Is that alright?" She asked the little pup.

The wolf looked up and her and barked a happy bark. Y/N took this as the wolf telling her it was okay. Y/N picked up the small wolf after she had finished her meat snack.

"I'll name you..," Y/N started, thinking of a name. She glanced up and saw a berry bush on a nearby hill. "Berry."

The little wolf barked, signaling she liked the name. Y/N smiled. "You like that? We had better get back to Sushi. We have to leave now!" Y/N said to Berry.

Still holding the pup, Y/N returned to Sushi and they went on their way.

Clay overheard something in the woods he had stopped in to let Eclipse rest. It sounded like a female talking. He quietly approached the voice and hid behind a tree.

"I'll name you.......Berry!"

"Bark Bark!"

"You like that? We had better get back to Sushi. We have to leave now!"

Clay then heard footsteps walking away and peaked around the tree. He saw a neon green sweater disappear behind the bushes.

'Was that Y/N?' He thought. Running back to get Eclipse to follow the girl. Or at least, he assumed was a girl judging by their voice.

Soon, he could see their back. He was a little ways behind them so they couldn't hear him but he could still hear them.

"Okay Berry and Sushi. We're gonna go on a little trip. My goal is to defeat a creator called the ender dragon! He's been causing the mass spread of monsters! We're gonna build a little home and during the day I'll go and get supplies to build up my armor and weapons! Berry. Your job is to protect our home! Sushi! Your job is to take me places! Okay? If I'm lucky I'll meet others like me who can help! So don't be surprised if I bring home a boy or girl, okay? If I'm lucky I can get Georgie and Nick to help! If I can find them that is... Anyways! Let's head towards a oak woods biome! That's where we'll find good caves!" The girl said before they sped up.

'Georgie? Only Y/N calls George that! I gotta catch up!' Clay thought, but when he looked up, they were gone.

"Crap. I lost her again-," he complained, speeding up Eclipse to find them.

Y/N arrived in the oak woods about a week later. She somehow had found herself in the savanna after leaving the birch forest and had spent the week trying to get to the woods.

"FINALLY! BERRY! SUSHI! WE MADE IT!" Y/N cheered, throwing her hands in the air. Berry barked happily because Y/N was happy. (I keep typing Y/N as Y/an....curse mah chubby fingers-)

Y/N hopped off Sushi and held onto her reigns, guiding her to a hill side. She let Sushi rest while she dug a big hole in the hill.

"I've always wanted a home in the hillside... it'll be like a hobbit house," Y/N told Berry as they ate their lunch. Berry barked, agreeing with Y/N. Y/N smiled and petted Berry. "You always understand me, Berry. I'm glad I found you."

After lunch, Y/N got back to it. She had dug out a 21 block long and wide 5 block high hole. She placed oak wood in the 21st and 5th places and replaced the floor with wood, placing F/C carpet on top. She dug two holes in the roof, making a chimney for her fire place and oven. She placed her crafting table, cauldron, and stove in on corner, her bed and chests in another, and placed her fire place on one wall. She added some finishing touches to make it more homey, like a door and two front windows. She decorated with her favorite flowers, a picture of her and Clay, and other things.

She went back out side to put Sushi in her pen and take Berry inside for the night. She opened the door and saw a zombie about to attack Berry. Y/N drew her sword and ran at him.

"Stay away from my wolf, moron!" She yelled, stabbing the disgusting creature.

Once it was dead she turned around to Berry. "You alright girl? Let's get inside!" She told Berry. Y/N quickly tucked Sushi in her new pen and took Berry inside for the night.

Okay oof. Now we know why Clay broke his promise- ooooooooof. I'll give bluprints for the house in the next chapter cause I'm nice 👍
