Chapter 8

The next week, around Wednesday, the team started showing up. They had never been here before but it didn't take them long to navigate the dark oak forest. One by one they showed up. First were Aphmau and Aaron, who lived closest to Y/N. They knocked on her door around midnight.

"Maybe she's asleep?" Aaron suggested, after Y/N didn't answer.

"Maybe. It is pretty late. Let me try again," Aphmau told him, knocking a second time. This time a sleepy Y/N appeared, wearing f/c pajamas.

"Hello?" She asked, with a croaky voice.

"Hi!" Aphmau said. She was wide awake unlike Y/N. Hearing Aph's voice seemed to wake her up more.

"Oh, hello Aphmau and Aaron! You guys only live like an hour away right?" Y/N asked, trying to figure out what time they left.

"Yeah, but our horses wouldn't wake up so we left before they could fall back asleep. I hope you don't mind!" Aph told her.

"Not at all! If anything you guys can help me finish monster proofing my property before the others get here later. But for now I'll show you to where your staying," Y/N told them, leading them to the cabin closest to her house. "Sorry it's small. It'll only be for like one or two nights."

"It's fine. It looks nice," Aaron told her. Y/N left them to settle in and headed back to bed, having to run from a baby zombie that came at her.

The next day, around 7am, Aph, Aaron, and Y/N started working. They decided a double tall fence around the proximity would be good. They made it on the border of the clearing and the oak forest. They palaces two gates side by side so getting in and out wouldn't be unnecessarily complicated. They finished around 9am.

"Phew, that took ages! But now I won't have baby zombies running around here at night-," Y/N told the couple.

"Yeah, those things are cute but scary," Aph told her.

"Oh yeah! I never told you! Last night after I closed your guy's door, a baby zombie started chasing me and I had to run into my house!" Y/N told them, making Aphmau laugh.

They heard the gates open and went to see who it was.

"Georgieeeeeee!!!" Y/N shouted, running to jump on George.

"Hey! What's up Y/N?" George said, trying to keep balance on his horse with Y/N hanging on to him.

"Nothing much, just built a monster preventer system with Aph and Aaron," Y/N told him.

"Sounds fun. Oh, by the way, this is our friend Bad we told you about," Nick said, pointing over to a tanish male who looked about Nick and George's age. He had blackish brownish hair and black eyes.

"Nice to meet you, Bad! These are my friends Aphmau and Aaron. I have others coming over soon. But let me show you guys to the cabins you'll be staying in," Y/N said, hopping off George and leading Bad to the cabin right near the entrance. "Bad, you'll be staying in here with Dan, our other friend. He'll be arriving shortly. His lab is pretty far from here. He also had to make sure his assistant knows to not blow anything up," Y/N sweat dropped.

"Alright, cool. Thanks," Bad told her, putting his horse in the stall and heading inside to unpack.

Y/N led Nick and George to the second closest house by hers.

"You'll be staying here. Oh also, I didn't tell you this before but you guys are welcome at any of our houses whenever. Gotta have eachother a backs ya'know?" Y/N told them, as they put their horses in the stall.

"Mhm. Thanks. When are we leaving for mining or hunting or whatever we're doing?" Nick asked as they went inside the small hut.

"We're going mining. Trying to gather up the last few diamonds so we can have a full diamond armor and tool set. If we manage to do that while we're here, next week will be exploring a bunch of villages to get the enchantments we need," Y/N explained, making sure they knew the plan. "And we leave at 7am sharp tomorrow."
