This Is Who We Are (Sequel of Somewhere over the rainbow)

Parents suck...

Its been almost a week since I had that run in with the strange woman at school. Since then there was this tense vibe my dad gave off. He shut himself in his office all day and only came out to eat or use the washroom.

" Whats up with dad? "
I asked mom as she washed the dinner pots and I dried them.

She tensed up almost instantly and started shaking. I was shocked, I've never seen mom like this...

" Oh y-your father... Haha, he-he's a hard working m-man... "
She stuttered out avoiding eye contact with me.

Soon our conversation died down and we once again did the dishes in an awkward tense and silent atmosphere.

In the end the other 3 agreed it would be best to confront him personally and soon the conversation died down.

I let out a frustrating and exhausted sigh as I gently tossed my phone across my bed, landing at my feet.

Should I really confront him..?

I thought to myself as I rolled onto my side, pulling a pillow out from under my head to cuddle.

At some point during the mental debate I was having with myself I fell asleep.

" You cant tell her Shylow!! "

" Why not? Shes part of the Bow family and she deserves to know!! "

I awoke to the faintest sound of two people fighting as they made their way up the stairs and towards my bedroom door.

" Shes not ready!! "

" Oh liam for the love of humanity, shes 15!! "

I hopped out of bed as the voices lingered around outside my room. I slowly and quietly made my way over to my tall white door.

" Mom? Dad? "
I grumbled opening the door to see my parents standing there, shocked I was still up and frozen in place.

I rubbed my eyes as they adjusted to the dimmed lights in the hall and yawned aloud.

" Is everything okay? "
I mumbled looking over to dad.

He smiled to himself as he made his way over to me. Out of nowhere he grabbed me by my waist and chuckled as he placed me on one of his shoulders and walked me back to my bed, tossing me down.

He sat down next to me as I laid there wrapping myself in my blankets.

" You don't need to worry about a thing prim. Mom and dad will always be here to protect you. "
Liam whispered softly into my ear as he brushed his fingers through my hair.

Mom came to sit down as well. She had a worried expression in here eyes, but she tried to cover it with a smile.

" Your dads right. Nothing in this world will drag us apart. Theres nothing to worry about. "
She said as she gently kissed my forehead.

The two stood up from off of my bed and looked down to me with smiles of pride on their faces.

" Good night sweetheart. "
