This Is Who We Are (Sequel of Somewhere over the rainbow)

Come on Kimberly

I awoke to the beautiful sound of birds chirping outside my window. I left my curtains open last night so the sun was shining right through, next to my face barely grazing it with its warmth.

I blinked a few times as my mind was still lost in the bright clouds of my dreams. With nothing on my mind I turned my body to crack my back only to see my alarm clock.

... ... 7:50am... ... WAIT WHAT?!
I mentally snapped as I felt my body stiffen and my eyes widen.

I jumped out of bed and raced around my room grabbing clothing, whatever smelt clean enough to wear from off my cool hardwood floor and sprinted downstairs.

" Morning mom- "
I said racing passed the living room, but only silence filled my ears.

I paused for a second and back tracked to check if she was sitting there or not, and surprisingly she wasn't.

Huh... I guess she's working today...
I thought grabbing a piece of floppy white bread, toasting it then put a small spread of butter on top and I was out the door.

<< At school >>

As soon as I got to my school I heard the bell go off, and noticed most of the kids were already heading into the building.

1 week into high school and you're already late...
I mentally mumbled to myself as I made my way to class.

I walked down the large and somewhat busy halls looking for my class. I noticed it as soon as I saw a girl around my height with a dark purple bag walk through the door.

" Kimberly!! "
I shouted to the girl.

She paused and looked back with a huge yet gentle smile.

" PRIM!! "
She shouted back charging at me full force, tackling me to the ground as she wrapped her arms around my waist.

" Pffft- Kimberly!! Hahha- come on, we're gonna be late if you don't get up!! "
I said trying to stop laughing as she squeezed me tighter and tighter.

Kimberly has long dark hazel brown hair like her mom and dark navy blue eyes like her dad. Kimberly has a round cute face with perfectly black eyelashes.
" Omg... That's like so weird. "
A random girl whispered to her friend as they walked around the scene we had created.

I took a moment to look around the hall to see everyone staring at us. I flinched as shivers went down my spine when I heard a few guys chuckling as they pointed at us.

" Ugh! Kimberly get off me! "
I said with a serious tone in my voice, obviously catching her off guard.

She sat up with a confused look on her face. She turned her attention to the girls that walked by, then back to me.

" A-are you embarrassed? "
She asked standing up onto her feet, towering over me like a wobbly building.

" Your my best girl friend!! I could never be embarrassed of you. "
I said standing up to meet her eye level.

She made a weak and confused smile but brushed it off, wrapping her arm around my shoulders and dragged me into class.

Its gonna be a long year... I just feel it
