Its that special time again. The season of peace and joy. The feeling of warmth, even though its -20 outdoors. Seeing the beautiful lights being hung up and tress being set up to decorate. But most importantly, its the season to bring people together.

-

" H-hey Kim... "
AJ mumbled as a thick warm cloud of breath escaped his mouth and blew into the chilly air.

" Whats up? "
I said looking around at the colourfully decorated houses as we passed them on our way to school.

" I... I was w-wondering if... "
He hesitantly paused, rubbing his hands together and blowing his warm breath on them.

" ... ... N- nevermind... "

I glanced up to AJ only to see him already staring back down at me. A faint smile curving along the tip of his lip.

As soon as our eyes met he imminently turned his head back around to look forward and tilted it down to face his feet.

Odd. AJ usually never acts THIS tense around me... ... What if-

" Watch out Kim!! "
AJ raised his voice.

He snapped me out of my thoughts but I had already stepped down on a thick patch of ice that sat in the middle of the side walk.

" WAHH!! "
I shouted as I suddenly lost my balance and went gliding forwards.

I tried putting my arms out to catch myself but my body had turned against me and froze up the moment I needed it most.

" Kimberly!! "
AJ shouted, sliding his arms around my waist and pulling himself in front of me, taking the hit.

We both collapsed on the side walk, but AJ was laying underneath me, silently, not even moving. Not a twitch or a small grumble... Not a reaction.

" OH MY GOSH AJ!! ARE- "

" Are you safe? Were you hurt? "
AJ asked as he finally sprung up and immediately began pulling my sleeves up to check for bruises or any sign of pain.

I freaked out and slide my sleeve back down before my skin was seen, shocked by how fast everything was going.

We paused and fell silent after a second. His deep mysterious eyes always grabbing my attention.

" Ah- s-sorry... "
I said almost jumping off AJ.

I looked down to him and held out a hand to help him up with a big friendly smile.

He smiled back up to me and took my hand.

SHE'S ON TOP OF ME!! HER BODY IS LITERALLY ON TOP OF MY BODY!! WHAT DO I DO?!

I was frozen in place, I couldn't move, but its not like I wanted to anyways. Kimberly mangaged to get onto her knees and palms looking at me.

" ARE YOU OKAY?! "

I imdedienelty snapped out of it and shot up, making sure if she was okay.

Before I could check if she was hurt at all Kimberly pulled her arm away with a shocked expression in her eyes.

Those eyes... Those perfect hazel eyes...
I thought as she stared back at me.

" Ah- sorry!! "
She said springing to her feet.

Kimberly began to brush off some snow that had gotten on her coat, but turned back around to face me. She bent over a bit and reached out her hand with this big beautiful smile.
